Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFFA-CONTEXT AWARE ENERGY EFFICIENT ROUTING USING FAST REACTIVE AND ADAPTIVE ALGORITHMP. Kavitha Rani, E. KannanA vital issue of routing is how to efficiently strengthen energy consumption of the whole network and to avoid the energy-hole which leads to node failure or node death; this scenario makes the network to work improperly and leads to network death, Here we proves our hypothesis with linearity between routing and linear principles. Our proposed work effectively utilizes the … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 11, Issue 2 · 26 Dec 2013 · 6,617 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPERFORMANCE COMPARISON OF HUFFMAN AND LEMPEL-ZIV WELCH DATA COMPRESSION FOR WIRELESS SENSOR NODE APPLICATIONAsral Bahari Jambek, Nor Alina KhairiWireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are becoming important in today’s technology in helping monitoring our surrounding environment. However, wireless sensor nodes are powered by limited energy supply. To extend the lifetime of the device, energy consumption must be reduced. Data transmission is known to consume the largest amount of energy in a sensor node. Thus, one method to reduce the energy … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 11, Issue 1 · 10 Dec 2013 · 7,942 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSECRET HANDSHAKE ISSUE AND VALIDATE AUTHORITY BASED AUTHENTICATION SYSTEM FOR WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKKamalanaban Ethala, R. Seshadri, N. G. Renganathan, M. S. SaravananWireless Sensor Networks (WSN) are major research area in the past few decades. WSN is formed by collection of sensor nodes. Power source life and memory size limit the hardware sources and these will decide the lifesapn of sensor nodes in WSN. Therefore, many resources based research issues are evolved in WSN. This study focused security issue and proposed authentication … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 9 · 6 Aug 2013 · 6,429 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA LEADER BASED MONITORING APPROACH FOR SINKHOLE ATTACK IN WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKD. Udaya Suriya Rajkumar, Rajamani VayanaperumalSecurity is one of an important factor to be considered seriously in wireless sensor networks. In WSN, in many ways intrusion may occur, in the past decades there is no perfect IDS, without any wasting of resources like time, energy, cost and number of physical items. The main objective is to ensure the security and improve the quality of network … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 9 · 6 Aug 2013 · 6,911 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractParticle Swarm Optimization-Based Routing Protocol for Clustered Heterogeneous Sensor Networks with Mobile SinkR. Sudarmani, K.R. Shankar KumarIn Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) sensor nodes with sensing, computing and communication infrastructure are randomly deployed and organized as clusters. Most of the existing sensor networks focus on homogeneous in which the cluster heads are changed periodically. To improve the lifetime of energy constraint battery powered WSN and to avoid energy sink-hole problem; Clustered Heterogeneous Sensor Networks (HSN) are analyzed … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 3 · 18 Mar 2013 · 6,840 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Robust Recognition System for Pecan Weevil using Artificial Neural NetworksSaleh Mufleh Al-SaqerProblem statement: Pecan Weevil is a widely found pest among pecan trees and these pests are known to cause significant damage to the pecan trees resulting in enormous annual losses to pecan growers. Traditional identification techniques for pecan weevil include traps with pheromones to detect the infestation of these pests. However, these traditional methods require expensive labor hours to set-up … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 9 · 14 Jul 2012 · 6,831 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Multipath Energy Efficient Congestion Control Scheme for Wireless Sensor NetworkB. Chellaprabha, S. Chenthur PandianProblem statement: In most of the existing works either detection of congestion or scheme for congestion control in wireless sensor networks are presented. A very few works have been done, taken in to account of both congestion detection and congestion control. In most of the congestion detection works they have not achieved accuracy in detecting congestion and have resulted with … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 6 · 20 Mar 2012 · 6,857 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractImage Compression Algorithms Using Intensity Based Adaptive Quantization CodingSaad Al-Azawi, Said Boussakta, Alex YakovlevProblem statement: Low complexity image compression algorithms are necessary for modern portable devices such as mobile phones, wireless sensor networks and high constraint power consumption devices. In such applications low bit rate along with an acceptable image quality are an essential requirements. Approach: This study proposes low and moderate complexity algorithms for colour image compression. Two algorithms will be presented; … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 4 · 18 Jan 2012 · 8,496 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA New Cooperative Algorithm Based on PSO and K-Means for Data ClusteringMehdi Neshat, Shima Farshchian Yazdi, Daneyal Yazdani, Mehdi SargolzaeiProblem statement: Data clustering has been applied in multiple fields such as machine learning, data mining, wireless sensor networks and pattern recognition. One of the most famous clustering approaches is K-means which effectively has been used in many clustering problems, but this algorithm has some drawbacks such as local optimal convergence and sensitivity to initial points.
