Literature ReviewOpen accessIn the author namesAdvances in Document Clustering with Evolutionary-Based AlgorithmsSarmad Makki, Razali Yaakob, Norwati Mustapha, Hamidah IbrahimDocument clustering is the process of organizing a particular electronic corpus of documents into subgroups of similar text features. Formerly, a number of conventional algorithms had been applied to perform document clustering. There are current endeavors to enhance clustering performance by employing evolutionary algorithms. Thus, such endeavors became an emerging topic gaining more attention in recent years. The aim of … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 12, Issue 10 · 20 Oct 2015 · 7,192 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesENHANCING THE PERFORMANCE OF ADVANCED FINE-GRAINED GRID AUTHORIZATION SYSTEMMaizura Ibrahim, Hamidah Ibrahim, Azizol Abdullah, Rohaya LatipGrid computing is a system that coordinates distributed resources using standards, open, general purpose protocols and interfaces to provide nontrivial quality of services. Usage Control model (UCON) is a new emerging authorization framework that combined features of traditional access control, trust management and digital right management in one abstraction. Adoption of UCON improved the fine-grain of grid authorization policy. The … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 12 · 29 Dec 2014 · 8,676 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesA CLUSTERING-BASED HYBRID REPLICA CONTROL PROTOCOL FOR HIGH AVAILABILITY IN GRID ENVIRONMENTRohaya Latip, Zulaile Mabni, Hamidah Ibrahim et al.In recent years, with the emergence of grid computing system, the number of distributed sites has become very large. When thousands of sites involved in a grid computing system, data replication can improve data availability, communication cost and provide fault-tolerance in the system. In the literature, many replica control protocols have been proposed for managing replicated data. However, in large … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 12 · 24 Dec 2014 · 8,490 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesWINDOWS WEB PROXY CACHING SIMULATION: A TOOL FOR SIMULATING WEB PROXY CACHING UNDER WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEMSWaheed Yasin, Hamidah Ibrahim, Nur Izura Udzir, Nor Asilah Wati Abdul HamidWeb caching plays a key role in improving the performance of the web by reducing the latency of delivering web objects to the users. On the other hand, a simulation tool plays a key role in studying the behavior of any network such as studying the effects of web caching on the performance of the network. The aim of this … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 8 · 7 Mar 2014 · 10,978 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesProtocols for Secure Routing and Transmission in Mobile Ad Hoc Network: A ReviewMohamed Othman, Salwa Aqeel Mahdi, Hamidah Ibrahim et al.Mobile ad hoc network security is a new area for research that it has been faced many difficulties to implement. These difficulties are due to the absence of central authentication server, the dynamically movement of the nodes (mobility), limited capacity of the wireless medium and the various types of vulnerability attacks. All these factor combine to make mobile ad hoc … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 5 · 25 May 2013 · 8,211 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesOn the Fly Negotiation for Urgent Service Level Agreement on Intercloud EnvironmentNawfal A. Mehdi, Ali Mamat, Hamidah Ibrahim, Shamala K. SubramaniamProblem statement: Impatient jobs are the jobs that have strict constraints in starting and completion time and need a fast response and attention in mapping to resources. The negotiation process in cloud computing needs a customer-provider agreement that leads to loss of a significant amount of time for impatient jobs. The huge increasing in cloud service providers makes selecting the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 10 · 11 Aug 2011 · 7,953 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesMultilingual Database Management System: A Performance EvaluationNurul Husna Mohd Saad, Hamidah IbrahimProblem statement: The use of English as well as Arabic language is increasingly evident in the aspects of international business and finance. Therefore, this study explored the management of multilingual data in multilingual system in order to be able to cater two or more different speakers of Internet users. Approach: The proposed method is divided into two ends: The front-end … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 7 · 28 Jun 2011 · 7,410 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the author namesImpatient Task Mapping in Elastic Cloud using Genetic AlgorithmNawfal A. Mehdi, Ali Mamat, Hamidah Ibrahim, Shamala K. SubramaniamProblem statement: Task scheduling is the main factor that determines the performance of any distributed system. Cloud computing comes with a paradigm of distributed datacenters. Each datacenter consists of physical machines that host virtual machines to execute customers’ tasks. Resources allocation on the cloud is different from other paradigms and the mapping algorithms need to be adapted to the new … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 6 · 14 Jun 2011 · 8,039 accessesView PDFCite
