Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleSleeping Cluster based Medium Access Control Layer Routing Protocol for Wireless Sensor NetworksT. Nagamalar, T. R. RangaswamyWireless sensor networks play a vital role in remote area applications, where human intervention is not possible. In a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) each and every node is strictly an energy as well as bandwidth constrained one. Problem Statement: In a standard WSN, most of the routing techniques, move data from multiple sources to a single fixed base station. Because … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 8 · 16 Jul 2012 · 6,686 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleReal-Time Multimodal Biometric User Authentication for Web Application Access in Wireless LANSanjay Kumar, Surjit Paul, Dilip Kumar ShawWeb applications store trustworthy information and can be accessed online through wired or wireless network. Authentication is one of the major challenges to access these web applications. With varying level of sensitive data stored in web application, the concept of level of authentication can be introduced using biometric traits. This paper proposes biometric-based multi-modal authentication system with four levels of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 13, Issue 12 · 26 Sep 2017 · 7,465 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Fuzzy Logic Based Power Control for Wideband Code Division Multiple Access Wireless NetworksN. Mohan, T. RavichandranProblem statement: Resource management is one of the most important engineering issues in 3G systems where multiple traffic classes are supported each being characterized by its required Quality of Service (QoS) parameters. Call Admission Control (CAC) is one of the resource management functions, which regulates network access to ensure QoS provisioning. Efficient CAC is necessary for the QoS provisioning in … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 8 · 4 Aug 2012 · 6,755 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEnhancing Wireless Medium Access Control Layer Misbehavior Detection System in IEEE 802.11 NetworkA. M. Alsahag, M. OthmanWireless Medium Access Control (MAC) protocols such as IEEE 802.11 use distributed contention resolution mechanisms for sharing the wireless channel. In this environment, selfish hosts that fail to adhere to the MAC protocol may obtain an unfair throughput share. For example, IEEE 802.11 requires hosts competing for access to the channel to wait for a "back-off" interval, randomly selected from … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 11 · 30 Nov 2008 · 6,963 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleExperimental Evaluation of Medium Access Schemes in 802.11 Wireless NetworksG. Singh, B. S. SohiProblem statement: Deployment of real time services over 802.11 wireless networks requires quality of service (QoS) differentiation mechanisms for different traffic types. This required investigations into the performance of the Medium access (MAC) schemes like Distributed Coordinated Function (DCF) and Enhanced DCF with respect to the stringent QoS requirements imposed by the real time services. Motivation for this research was … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 11 · 30 Nov 2008 · 7,136 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleCluster Based Time Division Multiple Access Scheduling Scheme for Zigbee Wireless Sensor NetworksB. Meenakshi, P. AnandhakumarIn IEEE 802.15.4 ZigBee Wireless Sensor Networks, an efficient scheduling mechanism is required for reliable data transmission. Further, concurrent transmission of huge data through CSMA/CA incurs more packet collision rate. This complicated condition has to be eliminated to improve the system throughput. In this study, we propose to deploy cluster based TDMA scheduling mechanism for IEEE 802.15.4 ZigBee Wireless Sensor … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 12 · 26 Nov 2012 · 6,682 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titlePerformance of MMSE Receiver based Multi Input Multi Output-Interleave Division Multiple-Access System with Multi-user Detection over Frequency Selective Wireless Communication ChannelKuttathatti Srinivasan Vishvaksenan, R. SeshasayananProblem statement: This study presents the performance analysis of turbo assisted Interleave Division Multiple-Access (IDMA) system with Multi Input Multi Output (MIMO) support for multi user scenario over correlated frequency selective and uncorrelated frequency selective channel. Approach: The key principle of IDMA is that interleaver unique which distinguishes the users in contrast to spreading sequence in Code Division Multiple Access … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 7 · 30 Jun 2011 · 6,834 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titlePerformance Analysis of Multi-user Multi Input Multi Output- Interleave-Division Multiple-Access System Employing Turbo Coding with Multi-User Detection over Frequency-Selective Wireless Communication ChannelKuttathatti Srinivasan Vishvaksenan, R. Seshasayanan, Yuvaraj KrishnamoorthyProblem statement: This study presents the performance analysis of multi-user Multi Input Multi Output (MIMO) assisted interleave based multiple-access system. In IDMA, different interleavers are used to distinguish users as against different signature sequence in a conventional code-Division Multiple-Access (CDMA) scheme. Approach: The basic principle of IDMA is that the interleaver is unique for the users. Results: In this study, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 2 · 25 Feb 2011 · 6,881 accessesView PDFCite
