Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleShot Detection Using Genetic Edge Histogram and Object Based Video Retrieval Using Multiple FeaturesR. Kanagavalli, K. DuraiswamyAs the usage of multimedia data increasing rapidly, how to get the video data we need efficiently become so important. Recent advances in multimedia technologies allow the capture and storage of video data with relatively inexpensive computers. Problem Statement: However, without appropriate search techniques all these data are hardly usable. Users want to query the content instead of the raw … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 8 · 3 Aug 2012 · 6,853 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsA Survey of Content-Based Video RetrievalP. Geetha, Vasumathi NarayananThis study surveys current trends/methods in video retrieval. The major themes covered by the study include shot segmentation, key frame extraction, feature extraction, clustering, indexing and video retrieval-by similarity, probabilistic, transformational, refinement and relevance feedback. This work has done in an aim to assist the upcoming researchers in the field of video retrieval, to know about the techniques and methods … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 6 · 30 Jun 2008 · 8,579 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFace Log Creation from Low-Light CCTV VideosSomasundaram Sony Priya, Rajasekharan Indra MinuIn today’s rapidly evolving technological landscape, surveillance systems have become critical for security and operational management. Extracting accurate facial data from low-light CCTV footage remains a significant challenge due to limited visibility. This research presents a comprehensive methodology to address the complexities of face detection, recognition and timestamp extraction in low-light environments. Our approach focuses on creating detailed face logs … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 21, Issue 3 · 25 Feb 2025 · 7,191 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDefect Detection on 3D Print Products and in Concrete Structures Using Image Processing and Convolution Neural NetworkSelorm Garfo, M.A. Muktadir, Sun YiThis paper explores the automated detection of surface defects on 3-D printed products and concrete structures. They are the main factors to evaluate their quality in addition to dimension and roughness. Traditional detection by human inspectors is far from satisfactory. Manual inspection is time-consuming, error-prone and often leads to loss of resources. For this purpose, image processing and deep learning-based … …Journal of Mechatronics and Robotics, Vol. 4, Issue 1 · 26 May 2020 · 12,608 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractVideo Retrieval using Histogram and Sift Combined with Graph-based Image SegmentationTran Quang Anh, Pham Bao, Tran Thuong Khanh et al.Problem statement: Content-Based Video Retrieval (CBVR) is still an open hard problem because of the semantic gap between low-level features and high-level features, largeness of database, keyframe’s content, choosing feature. In this study we introduce a new approach for this problem based on Scale-Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) feature, a new metric and an object retrieval method. Conclusion/Recommendations: Our algorithm is built … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 6 · 15 Mar 2012 · 7,013 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractTurbo-coding of Coherence Multiplexed Optical PPM CDMA System With Balanced DetectionK. Chitra, V.C. RavichandranThe effects of turbo-coding on the coherence multiplexed optical PPM CDMA systems are shown by evaluating bit error rate (BER) with respect to system parameters such as interleaver length (K), number of simultaneous users (N), code length (f), initial pulsewidth (t0) and normalized threshold (θ) by including the effects of thermal noise and shot noise. Turbo-codes increase the number of … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 5 · 31 May 2007 · 6,617 accessesView PDF Cite
