Review ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleArchitecture of Ultra Low Power Micro Energy Harvester Using RF Signal for Health Care Monitoring System: A ReviewFarah Fatin Zulkifli, Jahariah Sampe, Muhammad Shabiul Islam, Mohd Ambri MohamedThis research presents architecture of Ultra Low Power (ULP) Micro Energy Harvester (MEH) using Radio Frequency (RF) signal as an input. RF has many advantages compared to other ambient sources because it is not affected by changes of weather or time, does not require heat or wind exposure and it can be moved randomly within the bound of the transmission … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 12, Issue 5 · 7 Jul 2015 · 6,956 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleMonitoring System for Uninterruptible Power SupplyS.A.Z. Murad, M.N.Md. Isa, N.A. RahmanIn industrial process today, reliability of equipment is very important. Power supply must be able to cater the need of industrial process. In case of power failure, backup power supply system must be able to support the main process plant. This is to ensure smooth operation and product quality. In order to do this, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system can … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2007 · 7,408 accessesView PDFCite

Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titlePOWER STABILITY MONITORING BASED ON VOLTAGE INSTABILITY PREDICTION APPROACH THROUGH WIDE AREA SYSTEMH. H. Goh, Q. S. Chua, S. W. Lee et al.Nowadays, power systems are being forced to operate closer to its security limit due to current economic growth and the difficulties to upgrade the existing grid infrastructure. With the sudden increment of power demand, voltage instability problem has become a main concern to the power system operator because voltage instability has led or crucially contributed to some major blackouts throughout … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 11, Issue 5 · 10 Feb 2014 · 7,143 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsDrawing Meshed One-Line Diagrams of Electric Power Systems using a Modified Controlled Spring Embedder Algorithm Enhanced with Geospatial DataAlexandre de Assis Mota, Lia Toledo Moreira MotaProblem statement: One-line diagrams are widely used in electrical power systems to provide a graphical view of state of the system and to assess its performance. Several methodologies and algorithms have been proposed to automatically draw the power system’s one-line diagram and provide satisfactory results for radial or small-size meshed networks. Nevertheless, actual power systems models are generally associated to … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 2 · 25 Feb 2011 · 8,096 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsVisualization of Available Power Transfer Capability in a Transmission System Using Morphological TechniquesS. U. Prabha, B. S. Dayasagar, C. VenkataseshaiahA morphological decimation technique has been proposed and implemented to analyze the available power transfer capability in a transmission power network. The method creates a graphical image of the power network with thickness of the lines proportional to their respective rated megavolt ampere (MVA) capacity. Based on ac load flow solution, another image was created to represent the power flow … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 6, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2009 · 7,102 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractOptimizing Cluster Head Selection Algorithms to Improve Power Efficiency in Agricultural Wireless Sensor NetworksSaed TarapiahThe current research addresses the management of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) with a focus on optimizing power consumption, a critical concern in current research. The study uses agricultural WSNs to monitor farming areas, aiming to enhance decision-making in farm management. The importance of such monitoring systems in the region is emphasized. Previous research highlights clustering as an effective technique for … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 21, Issue 4 · 3 Mar 2025 · 4,940 accessesView PDFCite
Review ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Systematic Review on Wake-up Radios Applied to Wireless Sensor NetworksMarco Aurélio Spohn, Caetano Mazzoni Ranieri, Agnelo Rocha da Silva, Jó UeyamaWireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are the backbone of many monitoring applications, especially in the Internet of Things (IoT) context. However, efficient power management becomes a critical challenge when sensor nodes rely on disposable batteries. The deployment of WSNs must ensure coverage and connectivity, but the resulting distribution of nodes and underlying protocols directly impact the network’s lifetime. The concept of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 21, Issue 3 · 4 Feb 2025 · 6,201 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDesign and Construction of a Smart Meter with Embedded Web PortalDavid Mike-Ewewie, Ayodele Ifijeh, Victoria Oguntosin et al.The absence of the necessary infrastructure to make an accurate and precise collection of data when compared to the first-world countries in the power industry is great. Due to that, the need for the deployment of smart meters has increased in order to offer consumers and customers awareness of their electricity usage, helping them lower their total energy footprint.
