Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsPattern Based Communication System and Its Performance Characteristics Compared to the Matched FilteringOzgur Orcay, Berk UstundagProblem Statement: Pattern Based Communication System (PBCS) aims to handle two prominent restrictions in communication lines. These are the inefficient utilization of the bandwidth under the spectrum limitations and sensitivity of the data transmission rate to the variation of Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR). Approach: The key point of PBCS is to construct the optimal communication signals, which consist of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 1 · 16 Dec 2010 · 7,288 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSynthesis of Optimal Incoherent Subcarrier Tracking of BOC(1,1) Navigation SignalsAlexandr Ivanovich PerovNavigation receivers of global positioning systems that are operated in complex electromagnetic environment must have an increased noise immunity characteristic. One way of such noise immunity rising is to use incoherent operating mode of navigation receiver. There are known processing algorithms for navigation signals with Binary Phase Shift Keying (BPSK) modulation. But in the near-term outlook Global Navigation Satellite Systems … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 13, Issue 9 · 26 Sep 2016 · 7,166 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractTracking Algorithm for Estimating the Orientation Angles of the Object Based on the Signals of Satellite Radio Navigation SystemAlexandr PerovIn the article, the theory of optimal filtering of information processes is used to synthesize optimal one-stage estimation algorithm for the object orientation angles using the signals of the satellite navigation system. The article also provides equations of optimal filtering, as well as their representation in the form of the tracking system comprising of an orientation angles discriminator and a … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 12, Issue 12 · 7 Dec 2015 · 6,474 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractCoherent Polarization Shift Keying Modulated Free Space Optical Links Over a Gamma-Gamma Turbulence ChannelX. Tang, Z. Ghassemlooy, S. Rajbhandari et al.Problem statement: The optical signal propagating through the Free Space Optical (FSO) channel suffers from irradiance and phase fluctuations caused by the atmospheric turbulence, which results in Bit Error Rate (BER) performance degradation. Approach: In this study the performance of the Multilevel Coherent Polarization Shift Keying (M-POLSK) based FSO communication system operating over the gamma-gamma turbulence channel is investigated. To … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 4 · 18 Jan 2012 · 7,954 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractLogo Recognition System Using Angular Radial Transform DescriptorsOmar Mohammed Wahdan, Khairuddin Omar, Mohammad Faidzul NasrudinProblem statement: The shape-based logo recognition systems have been developed to automate the logo registration process. The logo recognition operation faces many challenges such as having to recognize logos that might be scaled, rotated, translated and added with noises. Different types of logo’s shapes further add to the complex nature of this problem. Approach: We developed a logo recognition system … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 9 · 26 Jul 2011 · 7,197 accessesView PDF Cite
