Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleAn Improved TCP Connection Protocol over Wireless Mobile Networks with Mobile Nodes HandoffMaen M. Al AssafProblem Statement: This study proposes a TCP layer protocol (Div-TCP) that aims to give a solution for communication over wireless mobile networks that have the occurrence of handoff at anytime. It describes a topology of wireless mobile network and the handoff process as an ordinary process in that type of networks which may cause segments losses. Approach: Wireless mobile networks … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2008 · 6,675 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleMobile Node Speed Detection Mechanism in Hierarchical Mobile Internet Protocol (IPv6)Zulkeflee Kusin, Mohamad Shanudin ZakariaProblem statement: IETF has introduced Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 (HMIPv6) to support mobility problem in the next generation Internet Protocol (IPv6). The key concept behind this protocol is the usage of Mobility Anchor Point (MAP) located at any level router of network to support hierarchical mobility management and seamless handover. The distance MAP selection in HMIPv6 causes MAP overloaded as the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 9 · 27 Jul 2011 · 6,614 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleFault Node Detection and Connectivity Restoration with Mobile Relay Node in Wireless Sensor NetworksM.P. Anuradha, A.M. Swetha, Manivannan DoraipandianIn Wireless Sensor Network (WSN), node failure is an imperative concern in a hostile environment. These node failures create disjoints in the network and leads to a network partitioning problem. It is important for the nodes to be alive and communicate with each other to check the network connectivity. Replacement of Mobile Relay Nodes (MRN) in the location of faulty … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 16, Issue 4 · 1 Apr 2020 · 7,917 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAcknowledgment based Reputation Mechanism to Mitigate the Node Misbehavior in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksK. Gopalakrishnan, V. Rhymend UthariarajProblem statement: The cooperation between the nodes is essential to discover and maintain routes in mobile ad hoc network. Due to the presence of misbehaving nodes, the node cooperation is not always guaranteed as the nodes agreed during the route discovery phase. This phenomenon results in frequent network partitioning and it makes the routing process difficult. It also degrades the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 8 · 14 Jul 2011 · 6,567 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleMobile Ad Hoc Network Security for Reactive Routing Protocol with Node Reputation SchemeA. Suresh, Dr. K. DuraiswamyThe mobile node’s reputation in the Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) identifies its trust worthiness for secured multiple data communication. Unknown nature of the node’s communication status for initial period has great impact in the effective data transfer as MANET is self-organized and distributed. Problem statement: The functional operation of the mobile network relies on the trusty cooperation between the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 2 · 25 Feb 2011 · 6,988 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleReliable and Efficient Broadcasting in Asymmetric Mobile Ad Hoc Networks Using Minimized Forward Node List AlgorithmMarimuthu Murugesan, Ammasai KrishnanProblem statement: Network wide broadcasting is a fundamental operation in ad hoc networks. In broadcasting, a source node sends a message to all the other nodes in the network. Unlike in a wired network, a packet transmitted by a node in ad hoc wireless network can reach all neighbors. Therefore, the total number of transmissions (Forwarding nodes) used as the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 1 · 27 Dec 2010 · 7,577 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Hybrid Approach for Node Co-Operation Based Clustering in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksC. Sathiyakumar, K. DuraiswamyA Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET) is termed as a set of wireless nodes which could be built with infrastructure less environment where network services are afforded by the nodes themselves. In such a situation, if a node refuses to co-operate with other nodes, then it will lead to a considerable diminution in throughput and the network operation decreases to low … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 2 · 26 Mar 2013 · 6,964 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleMisbehaving Node Detection in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks using Multi Hop Acknowledgement SchemeUsha Sakthivel, S. RadhaProblem statement: For any node in a Mobile Ad hoc Network conservation of battery power and bandwidth are the priority. Hence, they try to reduce the overload they would otherwise incur when they forward packets. This selfish behavior of a node affects the throughput of the network. The nodes may also choose a back off value of shorter duration. These … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 5 · 7 May 2011 · 6,712 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleLink Stability and Node Energy Conscious Local Route-Repair Scheme for Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksAnuradha Banerjee, Paramartha DuttaProblem statement: A mobile ad hoc network is a self-configuring network of mobile nodes connected by wireless links. As the nodes are free to move randomly, topology of the network may change rapidly and unpredictably. As a result, intermediate nodes in the communication routes tend to lose connection with each other during the communication process. In order to repair a … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 7, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2010 · 6,856 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleNodes Density and Broadcast Management in Heterogeneous Environments of Mobile Ad-Hoc NetworksEssam Natsheh, Khalid BuraggaProblem statement: The research presented in this study looks into Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks (MANETs) environment that has varying node densities, called heterogeneous density environment. Such environment can be roughly associated with situations varying from areas struck by disasters to normal city environments. Approach: This study improved the performance of existing MANETs routing protocols by reducing the communication overhead incurred during … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2010 · 7,330 accessesView PDFCite
