Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsEmbedded Systems Education for Multiple DisciplinesAli H. El-Mousa, Ashraf Al-SuyyaghProblem statement: This study described the process and experience of designing and developing an embedded systems first course that serves different disciplines at the University of Jordan together with its associated laboratory. The course serves three different departments with varying requirements and varying student initial background. The stages of the design process of the course and associated labs are explored. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 2 · 28 Jun 2010 · 7,095 accessesView PDFCite
Review ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractTEC-Driven Mini Refrigerators: Recent Applications With Performance CharacteristicsTamer Guclu, Pinar Mert Cuce et al.Thermoelectric Cooling (TEC) technology has become a remarkable alternative in mini refrigerator applications in recent years, thanks to its lack of moving parts, silent operation, compact structure and environmentally friendly features. This study aims to examine the current usage areas, performance characteristics, and engineering challenges of TEC systems in mini refrigerator applications with a holistic approach. Experimental and theoretical studies … …Energy Research Journal, Vol. 14, Issue 1 · 23 Dec 2025 · 3,306 accessesView PDFCite
Review ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractReview of Signal Processing Techniques for Detection of Power Quality EventsAbhijith Augustine, Ruban Deva Prakash, Rajy Xavier, Mareeta Cheriyan ParasseryThe challenging process industry requires true power for its smooth functioning and here comes the importance of good power or power. The term Power Quality (PQ) aims at supplying true power to the process. The scope of the power quality increased with the introduction of newly designed sophisticated devices like computers and microcontrollers. The performances of these devices are extremely … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 2 · 30 Apr 2016 · 8,493 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDevelopment of an Algorithm for Fiber-to-the-Home Passive Optical Network Automatic Self-restoration Scheme Using Access Control SystemMohammad Syuhaimi Ab-Rahman, Siti Raihan Ahmad MahirProblem statement: Cables that are installed outdoors are subjected to harsh environmental conditions which make break down inevitable. When this happen it will disrupt the services and cause trouble to the users. To overcome this is to provide a means of restoring the network in case of failure. We introduced the Access Control System (ACS) and Customer Access Protection Unit … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 12 · 19 Oct 2011 · 6,899 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Simple Algorithm to Assess the Speed Stability of Induction GeneratorsAlexandre de Assis Mota, Lia Toledo Moreira MotaProblem statement: The speed stability if Induction Generators (IG) can be defined as its ability to remain connected to the electric network, operating at a mechanical speed close to the speed associated to the actual system frequency, after being subjected to a perturbation. This IG behavior is normally studied using dynamical methods that are determined through time-consuming simulations and are … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 6 · 13 Jun 2011 · 6,553 accessesView PDFCite
