Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsFeatures Extraction Based on Linear Regression TechniqueKhalid W. MagldProblem statement: The matching problem of complex objects is one of the most difficult task in the pattern recognition field. These problems are made difficult by seemingly infinite varieties of shapes and classes which are used. The difficulties are related to absolute shape measurement, given the impossibility of directly mapping shapes, as such, into a feature space. Approach: In this … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 5 · 25 Feb 2012 · 7,053 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Multimodal Biometric System using Global Features for Identical Twins IdentificationBayan Omar Mohammed, Siti Mariyam ShamsuddinPattern recognition studies are currently focusing on twin’s biometric identification. The system of twins’ biometric Identification can potentially differentiate the individual’s biometric pattern. With the new Unimodal biometric identification, identical twins are precisely and reliably identified, with well exposure of certain traits. However, it is much more challenging to identify identical twins as they share so many similarities between them, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 14, Issue 1 · 18 Jan 2018 · 8,021 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFUSION OF COLOR AND MODIFIED WEBER’S LAW DESCRIPTOR BASED HUMAN SKIN DETECTIONC. Prema, D. ManimegalaiSkin detection in images or videos plays a vital role in a wide range of image processing applications like face detection, face tracking, gesture analysis, human-computer interaction etc. Due to its high processing speed and invariant against rotation, it has received significant interest in pattern recognition and computer vision. The robustness of skin detection using color information depends on real … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 9 · 19 Apr 2014 · 6,402 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPALMPRINT VERIFICATION USING INVARIANT MOMENTS BASED ON WAVELET TRANSFORMInass SH. Hussein, Md Jan NordinData security is one of the important issues among computer users. Data security can prevent fraudulent users from accessing an individual's personal data. The biometrics recognition as one of the most important parts in the security of the data and the application of computer vision. The biometrics is the authentication method used in a wide variety of applications such as … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 8 · 7 Mar 2014 · 6,495 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractInvariant Image Watermarking Using Accurate Zernike MomentsIsmail A. Ismail, Mohamed A. Shouman, Khalid M. Hosny, Hayam M. Abdel SalamProblem statement: Digital image watermarking is the most popular method for image authentication, copyright protection and content description. Zernike moments are the most widely used moments in image processing and pattern recognition. The magnitudes of Zernike moments are rotation invariant so they can be used just as a watermark signal or be further modified to carry embedded data. The computed … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 1 · 31 Jul 2010 · 8,014 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractProbabilistic Artificial Neural Network For Recognizing the Arabic Hand Written CharactersKhalaf khatatneh, Ibrahiem M.M. El Emary, Basem Al-RifaiThe objective of this study was to present a new technique assists in developing a recognition system for handling the Arabic Hand Written text. The proposed system is called Arabic Hand Written Optical Character Recognition (AHOCR). AHOCR was concerned with recognition of hand written Alphanumeric Arabic characters. In the present work, extracted characters are represented by using geometric moment invariant … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2006 · 6,915 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractObject Detection using Geometric Invariant MomentMohamed Rizon, Haniza Yazid, Puteh Saad et al.Geometric moment invariant produces a set of feature vectors that are invariant under shifting, scaling and rotation. The technique is widely used to extract the global features for pattern recognition due to its discrimination power and robustness. In this paper, moment invariant is used to identify the object from the captured image using the first invariant (Ø1). The recognition rate … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 3, Issue 6 · 30 Oct 2006 · 6,665 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordStatistical Pattern Recognition for Thresholding between Human Skin and Background in Color ImagesRafael Divino Ferreira Feitosa, Vinícius Araújo Santos, Leandro Luís Galdino de Oliveira et al.Many research works based on the tone of human skin have been developed to locate and track the human body for the purpose of recognition in color images. With respect to other techniques, some advantages of face detection based on skin color are the smaller processing time, invariant angles of rotation and the performance in semi-occluded faces. In this study … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 13, Issue 2 · 10 Apr 2017 · 7,927 accessesView PDFCite
