Technical ReportOpen accessEvery word in the titleMagnetic Fusion Plasma DriveFlorian NeukartIn the evolving realm of space exploration, efficient propulsion methods are paramount to achieve interplanetary and possibly interstellar voyages. Traditional propulsion systems, although proven, offer limited capabilities when considering longer-duration missions beyond our immediate cosmic vicinity. This study introduces and thoroughly investigates the Magnetic Fusion Plasma Drive (MFPD) propulsion system, a novel fusion-powered propulsion mechanism. Through rigorous theoretical underpinnings and … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 17, Issue 2 · 4 Mar 2024 · 7,180 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleDesign of Speed Controller for Permananent Magnet Synchronous Motor Drive Using Genetic Algorithm Based Lower Order System ModellingK. Ayyar, K. Ramesh, G. GurusamyProblem statement: In this study, a Model Order Reduction (MOR) method is proposed for reducing higher order system into lower order system. Speed controller design is carried out to the lower order system by Genetic Algorithm (GA) approach and this controller is used to higher order system. Approach: This study is used to find a solution to a given objective … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 10 · 28 Aug 2012 · 6,829 accessesView PDFCite

Approach: In this study, we present a design approach of FPGA based Controller for electromechanical system. In this way, we present solutions obtained by Hardware/Software Code sign methodology targeted for the implementation of a motor control drive system using … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 1 · 18 Feb 2012 · 8,978 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleModel Predictive Approach to Precision Contouring Control for Feed Drive SystemsM.A. El Khalick, N. UchyiamaProblem statement: High precision machining requires high capability of multi-axis feed drive systems to follow specified contour accurately. Although each feed drive axis is controlled independently in many industrial applications such as X-Y tables and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines, machining precision is evaluated by error components orthogonal to desired contour curve. Contouring controller design is required for precision machining, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2010 · 7,309 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAnalysis of Abnormal Modes of Hoisting DC Electric Drive SystemKosmas ZdrozisProblem statement: Host number of publications in which special attention was given to the behavior of the hoisting drives in abnormal modes was found. The effect of the failure of the main power supply on the electrical and mechanical parts of the hoisting drive when the motor is operating in the regenerative braking mode was not enough studied. Approach: In … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 7, Issue 4 · 30 Apr 2010 · 7,241 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleMathematical Model of 4-Quadrant DC Electric Drive with 6-Pulse Dual ConverterKosmas ZdrozisMathematical model simulating the operation of DC electric drive hoisting mechanism has been developed. The study illustrates the capabilities of the developed model for investigation both normal and abnormal modes of operation of the converter and the supplying voltage. Large attention was given to the thyristor converter and its firing system so that fast-proceed micro-processes occurring in the converter can … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 2, Issue 5 · 31 May 2005 · 7,001 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Drives and Control Integrated Time-Domain Dynamic Analysis and Modeling Approach Applied To Ultra-Precision Machine ToolsTianjian Li, Shijin Chen, Haijun Zhang, Kai ChengProblem statement: Machines dynamic performance depends not only upon the mechanical structure and components but also the drives and control system. However, the design of the machines is still at the nascent stage by working on an individual machine basis, hence lacks generic scientific approach and design guideline. Approach: Using computer models integrated drives and control system to predict the … …Current Research in Nanotechnology, Vol. 2, Issue 1 · 29 Jul 2011 · 8,088 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleSingularity Analysis of a Hybrid Serial-Cable Driven Planar RobotSamir Lahouar, Lotfi RomdhaneIn this study, we address the problem of singularities of a hybrid serial-cable driven planar robot. Based on an analytical kinetostatic analysis three types of singularities are determined, i.e., serial, parallel, and combined singularities. In addition, cable tensions should be positive, otherwise, the robot will be uncontrollable. The serial singularity corresponds to positions where the serial port of the robot … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 15, Issue 3 · 26 Sep 2022 · 5,604 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleModel-Driven Framework for Evaluating Learning Outcomes ProcessMohammad Alhaj, Ashraf SharahEvaluating learning outcomes in academic institution can be complex and challenging. Several quantitative and qualitative assessment approaches have been adopted to enhance the process of managing, measuring and visualizing the learning outcomes. The difficulty of implementing and analyzing the evaluation process is mainly caused by the nature of the raw data used in assessment. The data is usually unstructured, complex, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 16, Issue 7 · 23 Jul 2020 · 6,873 accessesView PDFCite
