Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsBroken Character Image Restoration Using Genetic Snake Algorithm: Deep Concavity ProblemQusay Omran Mosa, Mohammad Faidzul NasrudinActive contours also known as snakes became a familiar and widely used in the field of image segmentation and restoration of historical documents in last few decades. Gradient Vector Flow (GVF) snake successes in overcome of converge to boundary concavities which represents the drawback of traditional snakes. Deep concavity problem it has become Obstacle faced GVF snake when restoring broken … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 12, Issue 2 · 22 Mar 2016 · 7,350 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsImproved Statistical Speech Segmentation Using Connectionist ApproachM. S. Salam, Dzulkifli Mohamad, S. H. SallehProblem statement: Speech segmentation is an important part for speech recognition, synthesizing and coding. Statistical based approach detects segmentation points via computing spectral distortion of the signal without prior knowledge of the acoustic information proved to be able to give good match, less omission but lot of insertion. These insertion points dropped segmentation accuracy. Approach: This study proposed a fusion … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 4 · 30 Apr 2009 · 7,680 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractIrrigated and Non-Irrigated Wheat Classification Based on Cultivation Calendar by IHS AlgorithmAshourloo Davood, Matkan Ali Akbar, Aghighi Hossain et al.In order to extract the wheat the bi-temporal Spot images were ordered based on cultivation calendar of wheat and other crops. As the crops reflection properties showed many variations, for precise classification many signatures are needed. Appropriate bands for classification were selected by divergence algorithm. These bands converted to IHS and for recognizing the reflection changes in the cultivated areas, … …American Journal of Agricultural and Biological Sciences, Vol. 3, Issue 3 · 30 Sep 2008 · 7,219 accessesView PDF Cite
