Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleHuffman Based Code Generation Algorithms: Data Compression PerspectivesAhsan Habib, M. Jahirul Islam, M. Shahidur RahmanThis article proposes two dynamic Huffman based code generation algorithms, namely Octanary and Hexanary algorithm, for data compression. Faster encoding and decoding process is very important in data compression area. We propose tribit-based (Octanary) and quadbit-based (Hexanary) algorithm and compare the performance with the existing widely used single bit (Binary) and recently introduced dibit (Quaternary) algorithms. The decoding algorithms for … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 14, Issue 12 · 9 Dec 2018 · 7,701 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleAnalysis Quantum Implementation of Double AES Cryptography for Secure QR Code GenerationJimmy Wijaya, RojaliData security faces unprecedented challenges due to the rapid advancement of quantum computing technologies, which threaten to compromise foundational classical cryptographic algorithms. This study investigates the quantum implementation of a Double Advanced Encryption Standard (Double AES) scheme for generating secure, tamper-resistant Quick Response (QR) codes. The research encompasses architectural design, quantum circuit construction, and empirical performance evaluation across encryption/decryption execution … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 22, Issue 9 · 20 Sep 2026 · 571 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsExploring University Students' Perceptions of AI Tools in Programming Education: An Extended TAM ApproachAreej Abdullah AlfuhaidGenerative Artificial Intelligence (AI) is commonly used in programming education. Tools such as ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot aid in code generation, debugging, and explanation. The benefits are clear, though concerns about learning quality and academic integrity persist. We tested an extended Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) for university programming courses. The model included perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. It added … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 22, Issue 3 · 11 Mar 2026 · 2,061 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsTowards Persistence Framework-Based Rapid Application Development Toolkit for Web Application DevelopmentChoon H. Choo, Sai P. LeeSoftware systems must be delivered quickly in order to respond to today's rapid changing business environments. Persistence framework was introduced to overcome the problem of object-relational impedance mismatch, occurred in most enterprise applications that need access to a relational database. However, most of these persistence frameworks are difficult to configure and use, thus do not really contribute much to the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 4 · 30 Apr 2008 · 6,767 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractOne Time Password (OTP) Solution for Two Factor Authentication: A Practical Case StudyOscar Efrén Acosta Mayorga, Sang Guun YooCurrently, static passwords are no longer secure, they expose accounts and data, more advanced and sophisticated approaches are required to guarantee user authentication and operations in digital systems. In this context, this study investigates how in a practical application, addressing security challenges in user authentication using One Time Passwords (OTP) can strengthen two-Factor Authentication (2FA), the use of a sec … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 21, Issue 5 · 26 Apr 2025 · 8,452 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractGenMicro: A Tool for Generating Microservice Architectures with In-Depth Microservice DesignWilly Kengne Kungne, Georges-Edouard Kouamou, Paul AyangMicroService Architecture (MSA) has become an increasingly popular architectural style for distributed and service-based systems. Despite the various facilities offered by existing frameworks, setting up a microservice architecture remains challenging for developers. Also, configuring all the microservices is time-consuming. Several tools have been proposed for generating microservice architectures. For the most part, these tools focus on the basic configuration aspects, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 21, Issue 3 · 25 Feb 2025 · 7,433 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractQuaternary Tree Structure as a Novel Method for Huffman Coding TreeAhsan Habib, Mohammed Jahirul Islam, Mohammad Shahidur RahmanThe binary code used by the current Huffman-based techniques slows down decoding speed. The quaternary Huffman coding method is a fresh take on the traditional Huffman coding that is suggested in this study. Each symbol is encoded into a quaternary code rather than a binary code using the quaternary Huffman coding technique. For Huffman coding, a quaternary code stream necessitates … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 19, Issue 9 · 24 Aug 2023 · 5,419 accessesView PDFCite
Review ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Overview on the use of Ontologies in Software EngineeringDaniel Strmečki, Ivan Magdalenić, Dragutin KermekOne of the main goals of the Software Engineering (SE) discipline is to find higher abstraction levels and ways to reuse software in order to increase its productivity and quality. Ontologies, which are typically considered as a technique or an artifact used in one or more software lifecycle phases, may be used to help achieve that goal. This paper provides … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 12, Issue 12 · 9 Feb 2017 · 7,353 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Complete Automation of Unit Testing for JavaScript ProgramsM. AlshraidehProblem statement: Program testing is expensive and labor intensive, often consuming more than half of the total development costs, and yet it is frequently not done well and the results are not always satisfactory. The objective of this paper is to present an automatic test data generation tool that aims to completely automate unit testing of JavaScript functions. The methodology: … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2008 · 7,289 accessesView PDFCite
