Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsDYNAMIC DAYLIGHT AND SOLAR CONTROL IN TROPICAL CLIMATEYaik-Wah LimDaylight is dynamic, thus there is no one common solution for all scenarios. It is more critical in tropical climate where the sky is predominantly intermediate; with inconsistent clouds formations which will influence the presence of direct sunlight and daylight availability. In this study, the potential of dynamic internal shading devices for improving daylighting performances in tropical climate was investigated. … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 11, Issue 10 · 29 Apr 2015 · 7,092 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEmpirical Validation of Daylight Simulation Tool with Physical Model MeasurementYaik-Wah Lim, Mohd. Hamdan Ahmad, Dilshan Remaz OssenProblem statement: In recent years, daylighting simulation tools have been increasingly used by many architects, engineers and researchers to evaluate the day lighting performances of building design. Most of these tools employ CIE sky models for simulation. However, the accuracy and applicability of these tools for tropical sky are doubtable. The aim of this study was to validate the computer … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 7, Issue 10 · 31 Oct 2010 · 8,899 accessesView PDF Cite
