Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Developed Uncapacitated Scheduling Algorithm of Building Timetables for Different Exam KindsHussein Al Bazar, Hussein Abdel-JaberScheduling many exams into different timeslots and rooms while meeting all given requirements is a difficult task, which requires designing and proposing a scheduling algorithm to deal with the issue of timetabling examination. This paper proposes a scheduling algorithm for tackling such an issue. The proposed scheduling algorithm generates a satisfactory timetable of different module exams derived from different faculties … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 16, Issue 8 · 22 Aug 2020 · 6,795 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleCOMPARISON USING PARTICLE SWARM OPTIMIZATION AND GENETIC ALGORITHM FOR TIMETABLE SCHEDULINGDennise AdriantoLecturer timetable scheduling is an important part in the resource allocation planning. Due to the large amount of transactions and various related constraints have to be taken into account in timetable scheduling process, resource manager team shall need a lot of time to the solve the problem. This research is aimed to discuss the application of Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 2 · 20 Nov 2013 · 7,027 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleExploring a Flexible Scoring Scheme for a Heuristic Search Technique: A Case Study of University TimetablesSangsuree Vasupongayya, Warakorn Sitthirit, Suthon Sae-Wong, Thaniya KaosolThe university course timetabling management system is proposed in this work. The proposed system applies depth-bounded discrepancy search together with the heuristic and the hard-soft constraints to guide the search to a good solution space. To make the proposed system easy to use by a non-technical user, this work explores a scoring scheme including the effects of the ordering heuristics, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 16, Issue 5 · 2 Jun 2020 · 7,359 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractIntegrating a Repairing-based Genetic Algorithm-Neighborhood Search Structure in Solving the Course Timetabling ProblemChong-Keat Teoh, Habibollah Haron, Antoni Wibowo, Mohd. Salihin NgadimanThe course timetabling problem is not a trivial task as it is an NP-hard and NP-complete problem and many solutions have been proposed due to its high complexity search landscape. In essence, the nature of the course timetabling problem is to assign a lecturer-course entity to existing teaching venue and timeslot in an academic institution. In this article, the authors … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 12, Issue 10 · 15 Dec 2016 · 7,102 accessesView PDF Cite
