Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsPredicting Battery Charge Depletion in Wireless Sensor Networks Using Received Signal Strength IndicatorInacio Henrique Yano, Vitor ChavesDe Oliveira, Eric Alberto de Mello Fagotto et al.This article aims to identify an adequate mathematical model to predict battery power depletion at the nodes of a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN), by analyzing the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI). Six general models were tested, the simplest Average model, Linear Regression model, Autoregressive (AR) models and Autoregressive Moving Average (ARMA) models. The selected model (AR) presented a low absolute mean … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 7 · 12 Jun 2013 · 7,239 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsInvestigating QoS and Performance of Received Signal Strength Indicator in Fiber Optics Broadband Data CommunicationOwusu Nyarko-Boateng, Adebayo F. Adekoya, Benjamin A. WeyoriThere has been an unusual drop of Fiber Optics Broadband (FOB) internet speed in certain localities in Ghana which severely affect users’ experience. This phenomenon have had a serious impact on the quality of service of internet delivery. This paper accessed the quality service of FOB wireless signal between the last mile cell site and the FOB wireless Access Point … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 12, Issue 3 · 3 Aug 2019 · 7,620 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Cross-Layered Path Stability Based Routing Protocol for WiMAX NetworksM. Deva Priya, M. L. ValarmathiIn IEEE 802.16, a Subscriber Station (SS) is battery powered with limited capacity. A SS can be made to operate for longer durations by deploying power saving features or by using relay stations. Multi-hop communication conserves power, but finding an optimal path to the destination is monotonous. Path stability indicates how stable a path is and how long it can … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 11 · 9 Sep 2013 · 6,673 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractReceived Signal Strength Indication Modeling in Indoor Wireless Sensor NetworksEdson Taira Procopio, Alexandre de Assis Mota, Lia Toledo Moreira Mota, Luiz Rodolfo Barreto da SilvaThis study aims to identify mathematical models that represent the relation between Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI) and objects in an indoor Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). Using the Least Squares Method, four linear models have been identified: The first one relates uplink RSSI and objects; the second one relates downlink RSSI and objects; the third one relates uplink RSSI and … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 9 · 24 Aug 2013 · 6,863 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractOptimal Power Control with Overhearing Avoidance for Wireless Sensor NetworksM. Ramakrishnan, P. Vanaja RanjanProblem statement: Extending lifetime of the battery operated wireless sensor nodes through the design of low power medium access control protocols dealt in this study. Approach: In this study energy efficient Optimal Power Control MAC with Overhearing Avoidance (OPC-OA) was proposed. The transmission power of every node was dynamically changed for the optimal connectivity between nodes. The optimal transmission power … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 4 · 30 Apr 2009 · 7,131 accessesView PDFCite
