Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleProvisioning QoS in Virtual Private Network using Dynamic SchedulingR. Ravi, S. RadhakrishnanActive and programmable networks change the functionality of routers and switches by using VPN endpoints and active packets. The authors present a new packet scheduling scheme called active scheduling to control and maintain QoS parameters in virtual private networks (VPNs) within the confines of adaptive and programmable networks. In active scheduling a VPN endpoint on the router monitors the accumulated … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 1 · 31 Jan 2008 · 6,730 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsA Cross Layer Frame Work for Enhanced Quality of Service Provisioning in Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access NetworksS.J.K. Jagadeesh Kumar, T. PurusothamanProblem statement: The demand for multimedia applications in WiMAX networks is growing at a rapid pace. A method for guaranteeing Quality of Service (QoS) for different classes of traffic is therefore gaining importance. Hence designing and analyzing multimedia traffic and QoS parameters has become central to this problem. In this study, we propose a cross layer frame work in which … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 3 · 21 Jan 2012 · 7,052 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsPerformance Analysis of Rejection Ratio in Cost Optimized Virtual Private Networks Provisioning Algorithm (COVPA) Using Waxman and Barabasi Model in Cyber SpaceRamanathan Rajasekar, Ramaraj Ravi, Beulah ShekharProblem statement: Virtual private networks have provided customers with a secure and low-cost communication environment. Approach: The COVPA, the provisioning algorithm for a Virtual Private Network service, which built and managed VPNs on demand. Results: The COVPA allowed each VPN to have guaranteed resources and customized control and supported a highly dynamic VPN service where creation and modification operations took … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 2 · 28 Nov 2011 · 7,122 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractLocation-Aware Energy-Efficient Workload Allocation in Geo Distributed Cloud EnvironmentSoha Rawas, Ahmed ZekriThe proliferation of cloud computing relied on the virtualization of the compute and storage resources and provisioning them dynamically according to users’ needs on a pay-per-use model. Massive cloud providers have geo-distributed cloud data centers to ensure service reliability, availability and satisfy user’s need. Therefore, cloud management systems are necessary to increase the profit of cloud providers and to improve … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 14, Issue 3 · 13 Mar 2018 · 8,034 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA CROSS-LAYER SCHEDULER WITH CHANNEL STATE INFORMATION FOR GUARANTEED QUALITY OF SERVICER. Nandhini, N. DevarajanWiMAX networks are deployed for commercial use because of its nature high bandwidth. This requirement invokes the application level changes in QoS provisioning techniques. The objective of the broadband wireless technologies is to ensure the end to end Quality of Service (QoS) for the service classes. WiMAX is a revolution in wireless networks, which could support real time multimedia services. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 2 · 13 Nov 2013 · 6,976 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Fuzzy Logic Based Power Control for Wideband Code Division Multiple Access Wireless NetworksN. Mohan, T. RavichandranProblem statement: Resource management is one of the most important engineering issues in 3G systems where multiple traffic classes are supported each being characterized by its required Quality of Service (QoS) parameters. Call Admission Control (CAC) is one of the resource management functions, which regulates network access to ensure QoS provisioning. Efficient CAC is necessary for the QoS provisioning in … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 8 · 4 Aug 2012 · 6,755 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractExperimental Evaluation of Medium Access Schemes in 802.11 Wireless NetworksG. Singh, B. S. SohiProblem statement: Deployment of real time services over 802.11 wireless networks requires quality of service (QoS) differentiation mechanisms for different traffic types. This required investigations into the performance of the Medium access (MAC) schemes like Distributed Coordinated Function (DCF) and Enhanced DCF with respect to the stringent QoS requirements imposed by the real time services. Motivation for this research was … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 11 · 30 Nov 2008 · 7,136 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordENERGY EFFICIENT AND INTERFERENCE AWARE PROVISIONING IN VIRTUALIZED SERVER CLUSTER ENVIRONMENTMohan Raj Velayudhan Kumar, Shriram RaghunathanIT service providers, employ server virtualization as a main building block to improve system utilization, improve system manageability, reduce operational costs which includes energy consumption driving economies of scale with shared resources. Virtualization enables co-locating and efficient assignments of virtual servers within the bounds of limited number of heterogeneous physical servers, with Virtual Machines (VM) sharing the limited physical server … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 1 · 12 Nov 2013 · 6,692 accessesView PDFCite
