Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleReliability Equivalence Factors of a Parallel System Subject to Weibull Distribution Using Multivariate FGM CopulaNeama Salah Youssef TemrazThis paper analyze a parallel system consisted of n dependent components with lifetimes follow Weibull distribution. FGM Copula in multivariate case is used to generate the reliability function of the original system. Reduction method is introduced to improve system reliability. Other methods of hot, cold and warm duplication are established to improve system reliability. An application using real time data … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 15, Issue 1 · 3 Feb 2018 · 7,940 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleImprovement of the Reliability of a Series-Parallel System Subject to Modified Weibull Distribution with Fuzzy ParametersNeama Salah Youssef TemrazThis paper introduce a series-parallel system consisted of independent and non-identical components with lifetimes follow the modified Weibull distribution. Reduction method is introduced to improve system reliability. Other methods of hot and cold standby duplication are established to improve system reliability. A procedure for computing the reliability of the original system and the improved systems is presented when the parameters … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 13, Issue 3 · 7 Sep 2017 · 6,943 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleThe Efficiency Measurement of Parallel Production Systems: A Non-radial Data Envelopment Analysis ModelAli Ashrafi, Azmi Bin Jaafar, Mohd Rizam Abu Bakar, Lai Soon LeeProblem statement: Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is a non-parametric technique for measuring the relative efficiency of a set of production systems or Decision Making Units (DMU) that have multiple inputs and outputs. Sometimes, DMUs have a parallel structure, in which systems composed of parallel units work individually; the sum of their own inputs/outputs is the input/output of the system. For … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 5 · 7 May 2011 · 9,253 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleImplementation of Computer Aided Diagnosis System Based on Parallel Approach of Ant Based Medical Image SegmentationJayabalan Jaya, Keppanagowder ThanushkodiProblem statement: The aim of this study is to develop Computer Aided Diagnosis (CAD) system for the detection of brain tumor by using parallel implementation of ACO system for medical image segmentation applications due to the rapid execution for obtaining and extracting the Region of Interest (ROI) from the images for diagnostic purposes in medical field. Approach: For ROI segmentation, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 2 · 25 Feb 2011 · 8,130 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleOptimal Control Strategy for Parallel Fan-Powered VAV SystemsNabil Nassif, Iffat Ridwana, Mostafa Tahmasebi, Pejman EbrahimiASHRAE Guideline 36 recommends resetting the Supply Air Temperature (SAT) for Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems to balance fan power, heating and cooling loads and zone reheat requirements. This is achieved by employing a trim and response algorithm in conjunction with using the outside air temperature and readings from zone cooling loops. However, resetting the SAT for the VAV systems … …Energy Research Journal, Vol. 13, Issue 1 · 6 Jun 2022 · 10,353 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Systematic Literature Review on Extraction of Parallel Corpora from Comparable CorporaDilshad Kaur, Satwinder SinghIn today’s Globalized Scenario, the requirement for translation is high and increasing rapidly in the number of fields, but it is difficult to translate everything manually. Machine Translation, which is dependent on corpora availability, is a medium for meeting this high demand for translation. Parallel corpora are used to gain most translation knowledge. But, the number and quality of parallel … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 17, Issue 10 · 27 Oct 2021 · 6,697 accessesView PDFCite

Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleParallel Algorithms for String Matching Problem on Single and Two Dimensional Reconfigurable Pipelined Bus SystemsS. Viswanadha Raju, A. Vinaya BabuWe considered string matching on LARPBS and 2D LARPBS. This has applications such as string databases, cellular automata and computational biology. The main use of this method is to reduce the time spent on comparisons in string matching by using LARPBS. We investigated exact string matching and approximate string matching problems. For these two sub problems, we obtained O (n) … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2007 · 6,530 accessesView PDFCite
