Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleOn Wing Tip Flow Around a Low Aspect Ratio Wing at Low Flight Speeds Using OpenFOAM® and Parallel ProcessingNikolaos Konstantinos Lampropoulos, Ioannis Eleftherios SarrisIn the present study, the effect of the wing tip geometry on the aerodynamic performance of a swept-back wing at moderate Reynolds numbers is investigated through numerical simulation and parallel processing. The aim is the identification of streamlines around the wing and subsequently the formation of the wing tip vortex. Due to the purely three-dimensional character of the flow, the … …Journal of Aircraft and Spacecraft Technology, Vol. 9, Issue 1 · 31 Jan 2025 · 9,538 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleIrregular Class of Multistage Interconnection Network in Parallel ProcessingSandeep Sharma, K. S. Kahlon, P. K. Bansal, Kawaljeet SinghA major problem in designing a large-scale parallel and distributed system was the construction of an Interconnection Network (IN) to provide inter-processor communication. One of the biggest issues in the development of such a system was the development of an effective architecture and algorithms that have high reliability, give good performance (even in the presence of faults), low cost, low … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2008 · 7,057 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleParallel Memetic Algorithm for VLSI Circuit Partitioning Problem using Graphical Processing UnitsP. Subbaraj, P. SivakumarProblem statement: Memetic Algorithm (MA) is a form of population-based hybrid Genetic Algorithm (GA) coupled with an individual learning procedure capable of performing local refinements. Here we used genetic algorithm to explore the search space and simulated annealing as a local search method to exploit the information in the search region for the optimization of VLSI netlist bi-Partitioning problem. However, … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 5 · 27 Feb 2012 · 7,090 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsDPSA: Deterministic Parallel Search Algorithm in Large DatabaseSami Qawasmeh, Arwa ZabianThe main goal of parallel processing is to reduce the complexity of finding a solution for a problem. In this study, we consider the problem of searching for multiple items at the same time in a large database. We propose a parallel search algorithm that reduces the searching time in comparison to binary search algorithm saving in that the time … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 13, Issue 9 · 6 Sep 2017 · 7,190 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsDesign of a Distributed Control System Using a Personal Computer and Micro Control Units for Humanoid RobotsMitsuhiro Yamano, Akihiro Ochiai, Yuichi Suzukawa et al.Problem statement: Humanoid robots have many motors and sensors and many control methods are used to carry out complicated tasks of the robots. Therefore, efficient control systems are required for the robots. Approach: This study presented a distributed control system using a Personal Computer (PC) and Micro Control Units (MCUs) for humanoid robots. Distributed control systems have the advantages that … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2010 · 7,525 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsParallelisation of Algorithms of Mathematical MorphologyAbdallah Boukerram, Samira A.K. AzzouThe tools of mathematical morphology developed within the framework of the image processing, require of big capacity of data and the very high costs of execution. So today, the limits of the sequential machines are not to be any more to show, the passage in the new parallel machines of type Simd, Mimd, clusters or grids is imperative. This paper … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2006 · 6,237 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsDistributed and Parallel Decision Forest for Human Activities Prediction: Experimental Analysis on HAR-Smartphones DatasetBudi Padmaja, Venkata Rama Prasad Vaddella, Kota Venkata Naga SunithaSensor-based human motion detection requires the subtle amount of knowledge about various human activities from fitted sensor observations and readings. The prevalent pattern recognition methodologies have made immense progress over recent years. Nonetheless, these kind of methods usually rely on the particular heuristic variable extraction, which could inhibit generalization realization. This paper presents a distributed and parallel decision forest approach … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 15, Issue 5 · 11 May 2019 · 7,392 accessesView PDFCite
