Review ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractComparative Study of Visual Odometry Performance Based on Road ClassificationsDayang Nur Salmi Dharmiza, Awang Salleh, Kuryati KipliAccuracyand robustness are among the main concerns in vehicle positioning systems andautonomous applications. These concerns are crucial in GNSS-deniedenvironments; thus, we need an alternative technology to overcome this problem. In recent years, vision-based localization known as visual odometry has gainedconsiderable attention among researchers. Visual odometry is a vision-basedpose estimation and it has been developed for mobile object localization suchas robots and … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 18, Issue 11 · 26 Oct 2022 · 5,899 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstract2D Kinematic Quantification of Soil Particles around Growing Plant Root based on Optical MechanicsWenbin Wu, Jian ZhaoThe quantitative kinematic description of the surrounding soil particles during root growth is a technical challenge and biologically important. In this study, a two-dimensional camera-based imaging system was used to observe micro scale interactions between plant roots and soil particles. Maize root tip was imaged during ingress into the soils. This produced a series of two-dimensional images that represent temporal … …American Journal of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Vol. 16, Issue 4 · 21 Oct 2020 · 6,411 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractObject Detection and Classification from Thermal Images Using Region based Convolutional Neural NetworkUsha Mittal, Sonal Srivastava, Priyanka ChawlaIn recent years, object detection and classification has gained so much popularity in different application areas like face detection, self- driving cars, pedestrian detection, security surveillance systems etc. The traditional detection methods like background subtraction, Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM), Support Vector Machine (SVM) have certain drawbacks like overlapping of objects, distortion due to smoke, fog, lightening conditions etc. In this … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 15, Issue 7 · 18 Jul 2019 · 9,448 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAutomatic Counting for Live and Dead Cells from Trypan Blue-Stained Images by Image Analysis Based on Adaptive K-Means ClusteringSu Mon Aung, Kanyanatt Kanokwiroon, Tonghathai Phairatana, Surapong ChatpunComputer-assisted image analysis can be employed to reduce the time consumed in the routine task such as cell counting. This study aimed to establish a method to perform this routine task based on an image analysis to automatically count live and dead cells after staining with trypan blue dye. Gray scale conversion and morphological operation were applied to the input … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 15, Issue 2 · 1 Mar 2019 · 8,566 accessesView PDFCite
Review ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractStatistical Binarization Techniques for Document Image AnalysisSaad M. Ismail, Siti Norul Huda Sheikh Abdullah, Fariza FauziBinarization is an important process in image enhancement and analysis. Currently, numerous binarization techniques have been reported in the literature. These binarization methods produce binary images from color or gray-level images. This article highlights an extensive review on various binarization approaches which are also referred to as thresholding methods. These methods are grouped into seven categories according to the employed … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 14, Issue 1 · 3 Jan 2018 · 8,160 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractArtificial Neural Network in Face Detection Human on Digital ImageAbdusamad Al-MarghilaniMethod itself is proposed to be formed by series of filters. Each filter is an independent method of detection and allows you to cut off quickly the regions that do not contain the face’s areas. For this purpose some of the different characteristics of the object are used in addition each subsequent part processes only promising areas of image which … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 10 · 6 Sep 2013 · 6,691 accessesView PDFCite
