Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsEvolution of Time Concept in Physics and in PhilosophyC. Sivaram, Kenath Arun, O. V. KirenWhat is ’time’? This is a question that has perplexed many a physicist and philosophers alike. The perception of the passage of time appears ingrained in all biological systems where growth, evolution and decay of objects, etc. are measurable indicators of the passage of time. Here we look at various physical models of time, from Newtonian to relativistic. We also … …Physics International, Vol. 6, Issue 2 · 9 Jul 2015 · 8,957 accessesView PDFCite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractOptimization of Ultrasonic/Microwave Assisted Extraction (UMAE) and Rheological Properties of Polysaccharides from Auricularia polytrichaZe Zhang, Xiao Ding, Ziyi Xu et al.Polysaccharides from Auricularia polytricha (APPS) were extracted using Ultrasonic/Microwave Assisted Extraction (UMAE) technology. UMAE conditions of APPS were optimized with Response Surface Methodology (RSM). Rheological properties of APPS were investigated. The results suggested that the optimal UMAE conditions for APPS were ratio of water to raw material 22 (mL/g), extraction time 15.3 min and microwave power 59W. APPS solution exhibited … …American Journal of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Vol. 16, Issue 1 · 14 Mar 2020 · 7,420 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractNumerical Study of Natural Convection in a Square Porous Cavity Thermally Modulated on Both Side WallsGiovani E.B. Malomar, Abdoulaye Gueye, Cheikh Mbow et al.The numerical study of natural convection in a square porous cavity saturated by a Newtonian fluid is presented in this study. The vertical walls are subjected to temperatures varying sinusoidally in time and phase opposition while the upper and lower horizontal walls are thermally adiabatic. Darcy model is used, it is also assumed the fluid studied is incompressible and obeys … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 3 · 13 Aug 2016 · 7,912 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractREVIEW OF GRAVITATIONAL WAVE DETECTIONS: DYNAMICAL SPACEReginald Thomas CahillThis is a review of the numerous successful gravitational wave detections and the implications for the nature of space and time. The prevailing space time paradigm in physics was founded on the putative "null" results of the Michelson-Morley (MM) 1887 interferometer experiment to detect light speed anisotropy and which resulted in two different new relativity theories: Lorentz relativity (Lorentz, 1904) … …Physics International, Vol. 5, Issue 1 · 27 Mar 2014 · 8,007 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSOLITARY WAVE MODULATION IN AN ARTERY WITH STENOSIS FILLED WITH A VISCOUS FLUIDYaan Yee Choy, Kim Gaik Tay, Chee Tiong OngIn this study, the derivation of mathematical model for the wave modulation through an incompressible viscous fluid contained in a prestressed thin stenosed elastic tube is presented. The artery is assumed to be incompressible, prestressed thin walled elastic tube with a symmetrical stenosis, whereas the blood is considered to be incompressible and Newtonian fluid. By utilizing the nonlinear equations of … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 9, Issue 3 · 4 Sep 2013 · 7,085 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFlow Characteristics in Elastic Arteries Using a Fluid-Structure Interaction ModelH. Niroomand Oscuii, M. Tafazzoli Shadpour, Farzan GhalichiIn this study the interaction of blood flow with arterial wall has been investigated using FSI (Fluid-Structure Interaction) modeling. Computer simulation of pulsatile blood flow was carried out on the basis of the time dependent axisymmetric Navier-Stokes equations for an incompressible Newtonian fluid flow. An elastic incompressible material with large deformation was considered for the arterial wall and momentum and … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2007 · 7,429 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordEXTENDED MASS RELATION FOR SEVEN FUNDAMENTAL MASSES AND NEW EVIDENCE OF LARGE NUMBERS HYPOTHESISCurtis J. Forsythe, Dimitar T. ValevA previously derived mass relation has been extended to seven equidistant fundamental masses covering an extremely large mass range from ~10-69 to ~1053 kg. Six of these masses are successfully identified as mass of the observable universe, Eddington mass limit of the most massive stars, mass of hypothetical quantum “Gravity Atom” whose gravitational potential is equal to electrostatic potential e2/S, … …Physics International, Vol. 5, Issue 2 · 16 Jul 2014 · 8,271 accessesView PDFCite
