Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPerformance Comparison of Passive Fault Tolerant Control Strategy with PI and Fuzzy Control of Single-Tank Level Process with Sensor and System FaultHimanshukumar R. Patel, Vipul A. ShahFault-Tolerant Control (FTC) strategy has gain maximum attention in recent years in chemical industries due to economical and safety hazards perspective. Targeting at the decreasing control performance of the single-tank level control process under the constraint of system and sensor faults, this article presents model-based Passive Fault-Tolerant Control (PFTC) strategy which are based on conventional and artificial intelligence control. The … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 12, Issue 2 · 24 Jun 2019 · 7,598 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractImplementation of Fuzzy Logic Maximum Power Point Tracking Controller for Photovoltaic SystemRasoul Rahmani, Mohammadmehdi Seyedmahmoudian, Saad Mekhilef, Rubiyah YusofIn this study, simulation and hardware implementation of Fuzzy Logic (FL) Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) used in photovoltaic system with a direct control method are presented. In this control system, no proportional or integral control loop exists and an adaptive FL controller generates the control signals. The designed and integrated system is a contribution of different aspects which includes … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 3 · 5 Mar 2013 · 7,870 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDesign of a Fuzzy Logic Sliding mode Model Following Controller for a Brushless DC Servomotor DriversPhongsak PhakamachProblem statement: A brushless DC servomotor position control system using a fuzzy logic sliding mode model following controller or FLSMFC is presented. Approach: The FLSMFC structure consists of an integrator and variable structure system. Results: The integrator ensures the elimination of steady state error due to step and ramp command inputs, while the fuzzy control would maintain the insensitivity to … …Energy Research Journal, Vol. 2, Issue 1 · 26 Jan 2012 · 7,196 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractApplication of Neuro-Fuzzy Techniques for Solar RadiationW. A. Rahoma, U. Ali Rahoma, A. H. HassanProblem statement: The prediction is very useful in solar energy applications because it permits to estimate solar data for locations where measurements are not available. The developed artificial intelligence models predict the solar radiation time series more effectively compared to the conventional procedures based on the clearness index. Approach: The forecasting ability of some models could be further enhanced with … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 10 · 11 Aug 2011 · 7,077 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFuzzy Logic Controller for Static Synchronous Series Compensator with Energy Storage System for Transient Stability AnalysisSona Padma, M. RajaramProblem statement: FACTS devices play a major role in the efficient operation of the complex power system. FACTS devices such as STATCOM, SSSC and IPFC are in increasing usage. With energy storage systems they have a good control over the real as well as reactive power compensation and transient stability improvement. The design of controller for the SSSC with SMES … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 6 · 14 Jun 2011 · 6,694 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Novel Algorithmic Cost Estimation Model Based on Soft Computing TechniqueIman Attarzadeh, Siew Hock OwProblem statement: Software development effort estimation is the process of predicting the most realistic use of effort required for developing software based on some parameters. It has always characterized one of the biggest challenges in Computer Science for the last decades. Because time and cost estimate at the early stages of the software development are the most difficult to obtain … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2010 · 7,927 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractImproving the Accuracy of Effort Estimation through Fuzzy Set Representation of SizeCh. Satyananda Reddy, KVSVN RajuProblem statement: The precision and reliability of the effort estimation is very important for the competitiveness of software companies. The uncertainty at the input level of the Constructive Cost Model (COCOMO) yields uncertainty at the output, which leads to gross estimation error in the effort estimation. Fuzzy logic-based cost estimation models are more appropriate when vague and imprecise information was … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 6 · 30 Jun 2009 · 7,085 accessesView PDFCite
