Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleOSCILLATORY SYNTHETIC BIOLOGICAL SYSTEM CONSTRUCTION USING INTERACTIVE EVOLUTIONARY COMPUTATIONSQuang Huy Dinh, Nasimul Noman, Hitoshi IbaIn this study, we propose an Interactive Evolutionary Computation system to design gene networks for synthetic biology, of which the objective is to construct new organisms through the artificial synthesis of gene networks. Wet laboratories typically design gene networks through trial and error methods, which makes the construction of complex networks difficult. As a solution, automation can significantly improve the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 12 · 14 Jan 2015 · 8,476 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleIMPROVED INTERACTIVE METHOD FOR RECO-VERING 2.5D MODELS FROM SINGLE IMAGESFurferi Rocco, Governi Lapo, Puggelli Luca, Yary VolpeIn the last years the development of interactive Computer-based methods for building virtual and physical 2.5D models from single shaded images faced with an exponential growth. In particular, a wide range of methods based on image processing-based procedures and on Shape From Shading (SFS) can be documented. On the basis of the most favorable techniques devised in literature, the present … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 10 · 9 Jul 2014 · 7,559 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleBEEBOARD: FROM WIIMOTE TO INTERACTIVE WHITEBOARD APPLICATION FOR CLASSROOMBudi Yulianto, Lusiana Citra DewiTeaching and learning process is the main factor in education. The use of whiteboard and marker while teaching is an essential media for delivering knowledge from a lecturer to students. In another side, it can cost in daily operation such as making marker dried because of capped-off, easily smudged and some whiteboard (for projector screen) is difficult to be clean … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 10 · 1 Jul 2014 · 6,995 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleInteractive Computing Framework for Engineering ApplicationsJovana Knezevic, Jerome Frisch, Ralf-Peter Mundani, Ernst RankProblem statement: Even though the computational steering state-of-the-art environments allow users to embed their simulation codes as a module for an interactive steering without the necessity for their own expertise in high-performance computing and visualisation, e.g., these environments are limited in their possible applications and mostly entail heavy code changes in order to integrate the existing code. Approach: In this … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 5 · 7 May 2011 · 7,207 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Study of Elementary School Students' Viewpoints on Interactive WhiteboardTian-Syung Lan, Tsung-Yen HsiaoProblem statement: Introducing the Interactive Whiteboard (IWB) into teaching is not only a current trend but also a major policy of education. Many studies indicated that IWB can increase the interaction between teachers and students as well as students’ motivation and enjoyment from teachers’ viewpoints. However, a study to understand and describe the opinion from children’s view is hardly found. … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2011 · 7,440 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleInteractive and Automatic Query Expansion: A Comparative Study with an Application on ArabicGhassan Kanaan, Riyad Al-Shalabi, Sameh Ghwanmeh, Basel Bani-IsmailMuch attention has been paid to the relative effectiveness of Interactive Query Expansion (IQE) versus Automatic Query Expansion (AQE). This research has been shown that automatic query expansion (collection dependent) strategy gives better performance than no query expansion. The percentage of queries that are improved by AQE strategy is 57% with average precision equal to 43.2.
