Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleHardware Modeling of Binary Coded Decimal Adder in Field Programmable Gate ArrayMuhammad Ibn Ibrahimy, Rezwanul Ahsan, Iksannurazmi Bambang SoerosoThere are insignificant relevant research works available which are involved with the Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) based hardware implementation of Binary Coded Decimal (BCD) adder. This is because, the FPGA based hardware realization is quiet new and still developing field of research. The article illustrates the design and hardware modeling of a BCD adder. Among the types of adders, … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 5 · 28 May 2013 · 6,512 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleReconfigurable Hardware Architecture for Network Intrusion Detection SystemA. Kaleel Rahuman, G. AthishaIntrusion rule processing in reconfigurable hardware enables intrusion detection and prevention. The use of reconfigurable hardware for network security applications has great strides as Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) devices have provided larger and faster resources. This proposes architecture called “BV-TCAM” is presented, which is implemented for an FPGA-based Network Intrusion Detection Systems (NIDS). The BV-TCAM architecture combines the Ternary … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 10 · 16 Aug 2012 · 6,981 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleSingle Core Hardware Module to Implement Boolean Function Classification TechniquesMohd. Marufuzzaman, Md. Mamun, Fazidah Hanim Hashim, Labonnah F. RahmanProblem statement: Boolean function classification plays an important role in the field like technology mapping for digital circuit design, function mapping for minimization and the development of universal logic modules. Approach: In this study, we present a single core hardware module to implement Boolean function classification techniques on Altera FLEX10K FPGA device for lossless data compression. The compression algorithm was … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 11 · 7 Oct 2011 · 7,408 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAn Iterative Method for Algorithms Implementation on a Limited Dynamically Reconfigurable HardwareAbdellatif Mtibaa, Abdessalem B. Abdelali, Lotfi Boussaid, Elbey BourennaneIn this study we propose a framework and a combined temporal partitioning and design space exploration method for run time reconfigurable processors. Our objective is to help designers to implement an algorithm in limited FPGA area resources while respecting the execution time constraint. The algorithm to be implemented is represented by a task graph with different implementation alternatives (design points) … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 5 · 31 May 2006 · 6,536 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleDigital Hardware Implementation of a Neural System Used for Nonlinear Adaptive PredictionHassène Faiedh, Chokri Souani, Kholdoun Torki, Kamel BesbesNeural networks have been widely used for many applications in digital communications. They are able to give solutions to complex problems due to their nonlinear processing and their learning and generalization. Neural networks are one of the key technologies for the communication domain and accordingly a special effort may be expected to be paid to real time hardware implementation issues. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 4 · 30 Apr 2006 · 6,763 accessesView PDFCite

Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleDEACT: Hardware Solution to Rowhammer AttacksTesfamichael Gebregziabher Gebrehiwot, Fitsum Assamnew Andargie, Mohammed IsmailDynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) is a crucial component in modern computing devices. Improvements in process technology have significantly increased the speed and storage capacity of memory devices. However, as memory cells become smaller and closer to one another, annoying circuit disturbance errors such as the Row-hammer problem have become significant. Studies show that attackers can systematically exploit such errors … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 19, Issue 7 · 22 Jun 2023 · 6,483 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleQuantization and Pipelined Hardware Implementation of Deep Neural Network ModelsEl Hadrami Cheikh Tourad, Mohsine EleuldjInrecent years, Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) have garnered much interest due toadvances in computational power and data availability. Indeed, DNNs presents a considerable advantage in several challenges, suchas classification problems and video analysis. Although, such accomplishmentleads to significantly increasing energy demands, computational expenses, andmemory capacity. In addition, current efficient DNNs may have more complex andextensive structures. As a result, implementing … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 18, Issue 11 · 26 Oct 2022 · 5,703 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEfficient Implementation of Stochastic Computing Based Deep Neural Network on Low Cost Hardware with Saturation ArithmeticSunny Bodiwala, Nirali NanavatiThis study presents an efficient and rapid implementation of Stochastic Computing (SC) based Deep Neural Network (DNN) on a low-cost hardware platform. The proposed technique uses bipolar signal encoding in stochastic computing which relatively gives low hardware footprint compared to binary computing. Thereinafter, stochastic max function is presented and subsequently used to approximate the hyperbolic tangent activation function in SC. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 16, Issue 11 · 17 Nov 2020 · 6,875 accessesView PDFCite
