Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleEvaluation of the Genetic Material of the Grass Pea (Lathyrus Sativus L.) Seed Collection in Northern KazakhstanArysgul Turbekova, Irina Oshergina, Alzhan Kurmangozhinov et al.One of the main agriculture fields in the Republic of Kazakhstan is the diversification of crop production based on the preservation of soil fertility and minimal cultivation technologies. Ensuring sustainable grain production of legumes will significantly increase and strengthen the role of grain production in the country's economy, will allow significant amounts of land resources to be involved in agricultural … …OnLine Journal of Biological Sciences, Vol. 22, Issue 2 · 14 Apr 2022 · 6,162 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPerformance of Stocker Cattle Managed On Pastures Over-Seeded With Annual ForagesMichael Martinez, Daniela Brown, Sidney Garrison et al.The goal of this study was to determine the performance of stocker calves managed on permanent pastures over-seeded with winter and summer annuals. Twenty-one 7-month-old Angus calves (BW = 263 ± 24 kg) sourced from the university farm, were randomly assigned to three treatments. The treatments were: i) Grass Hay Only (GHO; Control; 5 calves), ii) Permanent Pasture Only (PPO; … …American Journal of Animal and Veterinary Sciences, Vol. 21, Issue 2 · 5 Aug 2026 · 889 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEffect of Granulated Sudan Grass Feed on the Fattening Performance and Meat Quality of Young CattleIlmaliyev Zhanserik, Аlpeisov ShokhanThe aim of the study was to examine the effectiveness of various methods of Sudan grass forage preparation and their impact on the meat productivity of young cattle. The scientific and economic experiment was conducted at the “Tulpar” peasant farm in the Almaty region in 2023–2024. Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractMechanism of Garden Aquatic Plants in the Remediation of Heavy Metal-Contaminated SoilChen Chen, Guangwu LiuHeavy metals such as cadmium, lead, and mercury are resistant to microbial degradation in soil and persist for extended periods. They can bioaccumulate through the food chain, ultimately impacting human health. This study demonstrates that a combined restoration approach involving soil enhancement and garden aquatic plants, specifically through the application of ferrous sulfate, results in increased dry weight and plant … …American Journal of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Vol. 22, Issue 1 · 20 Apr 2026 · 1,497 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEffects of Land Cover on Streamflow Variability in a Small Iowa Watershed: Assessing Future VulnerabilitiesKeith Schilling, Matthew Streeter, Kasey Hutchinson et al.Agricultural expansion and urbanization, coupled with climate change represent major threats to the sustainability of river ecosystems and infrastructure. In this study, we evaluated how subbasins with different dominant land covers within the 27.5 km2 Clear Creek, IA watershed affect key hydrologic indicators. Hydrologic output from two stream gages and a calibrated Soil Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model were used … …American Journal of Environmental Sciences, Vol. 11, Issue 4 · 6 Jul 2015 · 8,367 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAgro-Process Intensification through Synthetic Rhizosphere Media for Nitrogen Fixation and Yield Enhancement in PlantsG. Akay, D. R. BurkeProblem statement: In order to combat global warming and the emerging Food, Energy and Water shortages (FEWs), several approaches have been adopted, including genetic engineering and farming practices. Biomass based energy technology will further stress food and water resources and hence novel holistic approaches to FEWs should be designed. Approach: A novel technique (Agro-Process Intensification, A-PI) which simultaneously addresses FEWs … …American Journal of Agricultural and Biological Sciences, Vol. 7, Issue 2 · 15 Mar 2012 · 8,599 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractWinter Forage Program Benefitted Small-Scale Goat ProducersUma Karki, Lila Bahadur KarkiSmall and limited resource farmers are raising goats on pastures in the southeast USA. Nevertheless, many of these farms do not have productive and quality pastures to support the nutrient requirements of their animals. Information on forages that are suitable to improve goat pastures and sustainably grazing those pastures with goats is still lacking.
