Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleAutomated Face Detection, Recognition and Gender Estimation Applied to Person IdentificationMd Hannan, Md Rafiqul Islam, Md Ashraful Haque et al.Face detection, recognition and gender estimation are one of the most significant research areas in computer vision, not only because of the challenging nature of faces as an object but also due to the countless applications that require the application of face detection, tracking and recognition. Although many significant types of research on face detection, recognition and gender estimation problems … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 15, Issue 3 · 27 Mar 2019 · 9,492 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleDesign of a Neural Networks Classifier for Face DetectionF. Smach, M. Atri, J. Mitéran, M. AbidFace detection and recognition has many applications in a variety of fields such as security system, videoconferencing and identification. Face classification is currently implemented in software. A hardware implementation allows real-time processing, but has higher cost and time to-market. The objective of this work was to implement a classifier based on neural networks MLP (Multi-layer Perception) for face detection. The … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2006 · 6,885 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleThe Use of Neural Networks in Real-time Face DetectionKevin Curran, Xuelong Li, Neil M. CaughleyAs continual research is being conducted in the area of computer vision, one of the most practical applications under vigorous development is in the construction of a robust real-time face detection system. Successfully constructing a real-time face detection system not only implies a system capable of analyzing video streams, but also naturally leads onto the solution to the problems of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 1 · 31 Mar 2005 · 7,017 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleArtificial Neural Network in Face Detection Human on Digital ImageAbdusamad Al-MarghilaniMethod itself is proposed to be formed by series of filters. Each filter is an independent method of detection and allows you to cut off quickly the regions that do not contain the face’s areas. For this purpose some of the different characteristics of the object are used in addition each subsequent part processes only promising areas of image which … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 10 · 6 Sep 2013 · 6,691 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleEffects of Visible and Near Infrared Polarized Lights on Spoofing Face DetectionAzim Zaliha Abd AzizFace spoofing countermeasure is vital to avoid an imposter from gaining access to security biometric systems by using face masks in various forms that mimic a valid user face. Recently, several studies have shown the ability of visible polarized light in distinguishing real and fake faces. In this paper, polarization imaging systems using visible and near infrared (NIR) are proposed … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 15, Issue 2 · 23 Feb 2019 · 7,893 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleHuman Face Detection and Recognition using Web-CamPetcharat Pattanasethanon, Charuay SavithiProblem statement: The illuminance insensitivity that reflects the angle of human facial aspects occurs once the distance between the object and the camera is too different such as animated images. This has been a problem for facial recognition system for decades. Approach: For this reason, our study represents a novel technique for facial recognition through the implementation of Successes Mean … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 9 · 17 Aug 2012 · 8,271 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleOptimizing KNN for Face Recognition and Location Detection in Mobile Employee Attendance Systems Using Machine LearningPainem, Hari Soetanto, Achmad Solichin, Ibnu RamadhanEmployee attendance is critical to company operations, particularly for firms involved in ATM installations collaborating with banks. An effective attendance system enables bank vendors to verify the completion of ATM installations. The current attendance method employed by the company requires employees to send photos of themselves with the installed ATM, including the machine number and installation location. The company's admin … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 21, Issue 5 · 14 Apr 2025 · 5,989 accessesView PDFCite

Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleDetection of Occluded Face Image using Mean Based Weight Matrix and Support Vector MachineG. Nirmala Priya, R. S.D. Wahida BanuProblem statement: Face occlusion is a very challenging problem in face recognition. The performance of face recognition system decreases drastically due to the presence of partial occlusion on the face. Extracting discriminative features to achieve accurate detection versus computational overhead in extracting the features, which affects the classification speed, would be a sustained problem.
