Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEvolutionary Structural Optimization of Wind Bracing Connection Plates in Steel StructuresReza Kasiri, Saeid Eslamian, Theodore C. Crusberg et al.Evolutionary Structural Optimization (ESO) is one of the rules in structural engineering which has received much attention by the researchers. Today, the reduction of construction cost and weight is an important issue in the structure design. The optimization phenomenon is pursuing to fulfill this objective. Thus, presenting a design which could be both safe and economic is of special significance. … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 13, Issue 3 · 15 Jul 2020 · 6,968 accessesView PDFCite

Petrescu, Antonio ApicellaAn innovative, design-driven, sustainable approach in conceiving, developing, producing, using new materials can be effective in strengthening the competiveness and success of creative industries linked to manufacturing (e.g., biomedical, architecture, automotive, art, crafts, supports for cultural items, decoration, fashion, furniture, lighting, interior design materials and products, jewels, luxury, media supports, publishing, sport and toys), adding value to products and processes … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 4 · 24 Nov 2016 · 9,880 accessesView PDFCite
Literature ReviewOpen accessEvery word in the titleAdvances in Document Clustering with Evolutionary-Based AlgorithmsSarmad Makki, Razali Yaakob, Norwati Mustapha, Hamidah IbrahimDocument clustering is the process of organizing a particular electronic corpus of documents into subgroups of similar text features. Formerly, a number of conventional algorithms had been applied to perform document clustering. There are current endeavors to enhance clustering performance by employing evolutionary algorithms. Thus, such endeavors became an emerging topic gaining more attention in recent years. The aim of … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 12, Issue 10 · 20 Oct 2015 · 7,186 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleMulti-Objective Evolutionary Optimization of Sandwich Structures: An Evaluation by Elitist Non-dominated Sorting Evolution StrategyIlyani Akmar, A.B, O. Kramer, T. RabczukIn this study, an application of evolutionary multi-objective optimization algorithms on the optimization of sandwich structures is presented. The solution strategy is known as Elitist Non-Dominated Sorting Evolution Strategy (ENSES) wherein Evolution Strategies (ES) as Evolutionary Algorithm (EA) in the elitist Non-dominated Sorting Genetic algorithm (NSGA-II) procedure. Evolutionary algorithm seems a compatible approach to resolve multi-objective optimization problems because it … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 1 · 22 Apr 2015 · 7,323 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleOSCILLATORY SYNTHETIC BIOLOGICAL SYSTEM CONSTRUCTION USING INTERACTIVE EVOLUTIONARY COMPUTATIONSQuang Huy Dinh, Nasimul Noman, Hitoshi IbaIn this study, we propose an Interactive Evolutionary Computation system to design gene networks for synthetic biology, of which the objective is to construct new organisms through the artificial synthesis of gene networks. Wet laboratories typically design gene networks through trial and error methods, which makes the construction of complex networks difficult. As a solution, automation can significantly improve the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 12 · 14 Jan 2015 · 8,476 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleINFLUENCE OF EVOLUTIONARY COMPUTING ON NUTRITION RECOMMENDATION: A SURVEYA. A. Hegazy, M. A. Belal, S. A. AlFayoumiThis study is a survey about how Evolutionary Computing doesn’t play its important role in a vital field such as Nutrition. Evolutionary computing is a subset from the artificial intelligence umbrella that involves continuous optimization and combinational optimization which is based on searching methodologies. It has also a lot of algorithms that have played a main role in supporting the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 10 · 8 May 2014 · 6,490 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleStrength Pareto Evolutionary Algorithm based Multi-Objective Optimization for Shortest Path Routing Problem in Computer NetworksSubbaraj Potti, Chitra ChinnasamyProblem statement: A new multi-objective approach, Strength Pareto Evolutionary Algorithm (SPEA), is presented in this paper to solve the shortest path routing problem. The routing problem is formulated as a multi-objective mathematical programming problem which attempts to minimize both cost and delay objectives simultaneously. Approach: SPEA handles the shortest path routing problem as a true multi-objective optimization problem with competing … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 1 · 16 Dec 2010 · 8,216 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleImplementation and Evaluation of Evolutionary Connectionist Approaches to Automated Text SummarizationUday Kulkarni, Rajesh Shardanand PrasadProblem statement: Text summarization takes care of choosing the most significant portions of text and generates coherent summaries that express the main intent of the given document. This study aims to compare the performances of the three text summarization systems developed by the authors with some of the existing Summarization systems available. These three approaches to text summarization are based … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 11 · 23 Oct 2010 · 8,489 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEvolutionary Algorithm DefinitionNada M.A. AL-SalamiProblem statement: Most resent evolutionary algorithms work under weak theoretical basis and thus, they are computationally expensive. Approach: This study discussed the use of new evolutionary algorithm for automatic programming, based on theoretical definitions of program behaviors. Evolutionary process adapted fixed and self-organized input-output specification of the problem, to evolve good finite state machine that efficiently satisfies these specifications. Results: … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 2, Issue 4 · 10 Dec 2009 · 7,751 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleUsing Both a Probabilistic Evolutionary Graph and the Evidence Theory for Color Scene AnalysisNassim Ammour, Abderrezak Guessoum, Daoud BerkaniIn this research, we introduce a new color images segmentation algorithm. The color scene analytic method is based on the progress of a probabilistic evolutionary graph. The strategy consists in making grow an evolutionary graph, which presents the scene elements in an unsupervised segmented image. The graph evolution development is based on the computation of the belonging probabilities to the … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2008 · 7,013 accessesView PDFCite
