Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleCONSTRUCTION OF STRATEGIC CONNECTED DOMINATING SET FOR MOBILE AD HOC NETWORKSVictor Ceronmani Sharmila, Amalanathan GeorgeConnected Dominating Sets (CDSs) can serve as virtual backbones for wireless networks. A smaller virtual backbone (minimum size CDS) incurs less communication overhead. Unfortunately, computing a minimum size CDS is NP-hard and thus many algorithms were developed which concentrates on how to construct smaller CDSs. Aiming for minimum number of nodes in CDS, results in CDSs that are highly unstable. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 2 · 16 Nov 2013 · 6,913 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleDesign of QoS Aware Dominating set based Semantic Overlay Network (QADSON) for Content DistributionAmutharaj Joyson, Radhakrishnan ShanmugasundaramProblem statement: This study addressed the user’s perceived quality of service requirements in content distribution and investigated the role of QoS. Aware Dominating set based Semantic Overlay Network (QADSON) in surrogate server selection to achieve the specified quality of service. Approach: At first, we constructed the QoS aware dominating set based semantic overlay network which was a virtual network of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 10 · 4 Aug 2011 · 6,650 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsEvaluating the Performance of Equitable Dominating based Content Distribution Network DesignAmutharaj Joyson, Radhakrishnan ShanmugasundaramProblem statement: In this study, we considered an efficient and resilient large file content push problem in a large scale distributed content delivery networks and investigated the Quality of Service (QoS) requirements for content distribution. We investigated the effect of equitable dominating set in SON formation and how it was useful in reducing the redundancy? Approach: At first, we constructed … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 8 · 16 Jul 2011 · 6,654 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsEnsuring Multi Messages Broadcasting in Mobile Ad Hoc Network using Network Coding ApproachS. V.M.G. Bavithiraja, R. RadhakrishnanProblem statement: In mobile adhoc network, broadcasting is a common operation for route establishment and for sending control and emergency messages. Most of the existing broadcasting algorithms consider broadcasting from single source node and consider only single message broadcasting. Initiating multiple messages broadcasting from multiple sources is a challenging task which requires minimum number of retransmission made by the forwarding … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 6 · 17 Mar 2012 · 7,055 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsA Comparative Analysis of the Entropy and Transition Point Approach in Representing Index Terms of Literary TextHayati Abd Rahman, Shahrul Azman NoahProblem statement: Concept hierarchy is a hierarchically organized collection of domain concepts. It is particularly useful in many applications such as information retrieval, document browsing and document classification. Approach: One of the important tasks in construction of concept hierarchy is identification of suitable terms with appropriate size of domain vocabulary. Results: One way of achieving such a size is by … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 7 · 30 Jun 2011 · 6,676 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFinancing Higher Education and Education Loans in India: Trends and TroublesP. Geetha RaniThe paper attempts to investigate the trends in financing higher education which convey that student loans is the dominating source of financing higher education in India. This leads us to explore various factors that influence, viz., enrolment growth, growing private sector, bulging youth population with growing middle class with a wider acceptability of loan culture and increasing earning premium of … …Journal of Social Sciences, Vol. 12, Issue 4 · 3 Dec 2016 · 8,644 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractUtilization of AODV in Wireless Ad Hoc NetworksZeyad M. Alfawaer, GuiWei Hua, Nidal A. HamdehAODV is a mature and widely accepted routing protocol for Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET), it has low processing and memory overhead and low network utilization, and works well even in high mobility situation. We modified AODV to use these dominating sets, resulting in the AODV-DS protocol. Our contribution in addressing the fragility of a minimum connected dominating set in … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 4 · 30 Apr 2007 · 7,160 accessesView PDFCite
