Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsNEW BURST ASSEMBLY AND SCHEDULING TECHNIQUE FOR OPTICAL BURST SWITCHING NETWORKSV. Kavitha, V. PalanisamyThe Optical Burst Switching is a new switching technology that efficiently utilizes the bandwidth in the optical layer. The key areas to be concentrated in Optical Burst Switching (OBS) networks are the burst assembly and burst scheduling i.e., assignment of wavelengths to the incoming bursts. This study presents a New Burst Assembly and Scheduling (NBAS) technique in a simultaneous multipath … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 8 · 6 Jul 2013 · 6,946 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractMPLS over Segmented WDM Optical Packet Switching NetworksHakim Mellah, Fouad M. AbbouWavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) is a promising solution for data transport in future all-optical wide area networks. Such networks consist of fibers joined by dynamically controllable cross-connects which provide purely optical transport between pairs of network access stations. Optical packet switching (OPS) is optical switching with the finest granularity. Incoming packets are switched all-optically without being converted to electrical signal. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 5 · 31 May 2006 · 6,754 accessesView PDF Cite
