Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractUsing an Adaptative Fuzzy-Logic System to Optimize the Performances and the Reduction of Chattering Phenomenon in the Control of Induction MotorM. M. Krishan, L. Barazane, A. KhwaldehProblem statement: Neural networks and fuzzy inference systems are becoming well-recognized tools of designing an identifier/controller capable of perceiving the operating environment and imitating a human operator with high performance. Also, by combining these two features, more versatile and robust models, called “neuro-fuzzy” architectures have been developed. The mo Approach: Motivation behind the use of neuro-fuzzy approaches was based on … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 7, Issue 1 · 31 Jan 2010 · 7,523 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Extension of Yoshida, Imoto, Higuchi and Miyano ResultB. OnoghojobiProblem statement: Different approaches to deal with dynamic model when it is studentized are presented. Approach: In this respect, the recursive formula for calculating state space in the canonical form. Results: The asymptotic distribution of their test under the linear system for the gene network and a studentized-dynamic linear model with Markov denoising switching for estimating time-dependent gene network structure … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 5, Issue 4 · 31 Dec 2009 · 6,798 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractOptimal Thyristor Control Series Capacitor Neuro-Controller for Damping OscillationsM. Magaji, M. W. MustafaThis study applies a neural-network-based optimal TCSC controller for damping oscillations. Optimal neural network controller is related to model-reference adaptive control, the network controller is developed based on the recursive "pseudo-linear regression". Problem statement: The optimal NN controller is designed to damp out the low frequency local and inter-area oscillations of the large power system. Approach: Two multilayer-perceptron neural networks … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2009 · 7,281 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractError Resistant Real-Time Transport Control ProtocolS. Shahbazi, K. Jumari, M. IsmailProblem statement: Real-time Transport Control Protocol (RTCP) protocol has been the subject of various criticisms due its problematic performance in large-scale networks. S-RTCP is a protocol with high potential as it has proved to be able to solve many problems of RTCP. It has numerous flaws on its own. This study aimed at dealing with flaws of S-RTCP and improving … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 2, Issue 4 · 31 Dec 2009 · 7,087 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAnalyzing the Peer to Peer Traffic Aggregation Using an Optimized MethodM. Sadish Sendil, N. NagarajanProblem statement: In the recent years, peer to peer networks have rapidly developed in the distributed and decentralized world of internet. Current research indicated that P2P applications were responsible for a substantial part of Internet traffic. Number of users embracing new P2P technology is also increasing fast. It is therefore important to understand the impact of the new P2P services … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 10 · 31 Oct 2009 · 6,607 accessesView PDFCite

The study of social capital concerning silver ornaments at Ban Choke community, the Khmer ethnic focused on the low quality of the making the silver ornaments. The silver craftsmen earned less income because the capital productions … …Journal of Social Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 3 · 30 Sep 2009 · 8,077 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractThroughput-Delay Trade-Off for Slotted Aloha Multiple Access with Capture EffectA. Chehri, P. Fortier, P. M. TardifProblem statement: Medium Access Control (MAC) protocols are one of most important research issues in communication and networking. There have been proposed several MAC protocols in wireless as well in wired networks. Approach: ALOHA-based protocol is the simplest one, being able to provide prompt access, reliable channels and support for quality of service. However its limited capacity, low throughput and … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2009 · 6,918 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDesign of Modified Adaptive Huffman Data Compression Algorithm for Wireless Sensor NetworkC. Tharini, P. Vanaja RanjanProblem statement: Efficient utilization of energy has been a core area of research in wireless sensor networks. Sensor nodes deployed in a network are battery operated. As batteries cannot be recharged frequently in the field setting, energy optimization becomes paramount in prolonging the battery-life and, consequently, the network lifetime. The communication module utilizes a major part of the energy expenditure … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 6 · 30 Jun 2009 · 8,351 accessesView PDFCite
