Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractRational Rules of Thumb in Finite Dynamic Games N-person Backward Induction with Inconsistently Aligned Beliefs and Full RationalityYanis VaroufakisRecent work has cast considerable doubt on the plausibility of specific assumptions about how rational agents form out-of-equilibrium beliefs in finite extensive games in which beliefs are induced backwards. The point is that the resulting consistently aligned beliefs are incoherent in view of the counterfactuals they rely on. This study asks: How will the possibility of inconsistently aligned beliefs affect … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 2, Issue 13 · 16 Dec 2005 · 8,114 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractHarmonics Study and Comparison of Z-source Inverter with Traditional InvertersB. Justus Rabi, R. ArumugamThis paper presents an Impedance Source Inverter for A.C electrical drives. The impedance source inverter employs a unique impedance network cable with inverter main circuit and rectifier. By controlling the shoot-through duty cycle, the z-source inverter system using MOSFETS provide ride-through capability during voltage sags, reduces line harmonics, improves power factor and high reliability, and extends output voltage range. Analysis, … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 2, Issue 10 · 31 Oct 2005 · 7,281 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Proposed Optical Music Mark Recognition SystemIsmael JannoudThe optical music symbol recognition system still has many challenges. Most of issues focused on the recognition of the individual marks in the input concert documents. In this study a new and efficient model for optical music recognition (OMR) was proposed. The music marks was recognized and played by the computer OMR system automatically. A stored file of music documents … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 2 · 19 Oct 2005 · 4,890 accessesView PDFCite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAutomatic Discovery of Association Paths in Relational Databases Using Software VisualizationHaider Ali RamadhanWe introduce a visual framework for facilitating tasks associated with database maintenance and re-use. The prototype system embodying the framework is presented. The system utilizes various techniques and features of software visualization. The system supports visual displays of the database structure along with various implicit relationships found in it such as associations and path views. Information visualized is automatically extracted … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 3 · 30 Sep 2005 · 6,643 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractOn Analysis and Design of the Enhanced Firewall for Intranet SecurityU. K. Singh, A. K. Ramani, N. S. ChaudhariIntranet often employ an Internet firewall to mitigate risks of system penetration, data theft, data destruction and other security breaches. Conventional Internet firewalls impose an overly simple inside vs. outside model of security that is incompatible with many business practices that require extending limited trust to external entities. Additionally, firewall security perimeters are somewhat weak: they provide no protection from … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 2 · 30 Jun 2005 · 6,709 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Real-time Image Processing with a Compact FPGA-based ArchitectureRidha Djemal, Didier Demigny, Rached TourkiThis study have presented a filed programmable gate array implementation of a real time video smoothing algorithm. In comparison with smoothing video techniques like deblocking filters in H.264 or smoothing in JPEG2000, the proposed method is implemented in hardware and its computational cost and complexity are reduced where all pixel processing related to uncompressed video is done on the fly. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 2 · 30 Jun 2005 · 7,001 accessesView PDFCite
