Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleThe Design and Implementation of a Novel Skew Scenario Model in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksN. Vetrivelan, A. V. ReddyProblem statement: In this research, it had been presented a novel Skew Scenario Model that has been developed and implemented for mobile ad hoc networks. There exist several mobility patterns that try to capture the behavior of the mobile devices under different circumstances, whereas in our work, the direction movement of the nodes is significantly specified horizontally, vertically and diagonally … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 7 · 31 Jul 2010 · 6,926 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleSafety Message Power Transmission Control for Vehicular Ad hoc NetworksGhassan Samara, Sureswaran Ramadas, Wafaa A.H. Al-SalihyProblem statement: Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANET) is one of the most challenging research area in the field of Mobile Ad Hoc Networks. Approach: In this research we proposed a dynamic power adjustment protocol that will be used for sending the periodical safety message. (Beacon) based on the analysis of the channel status depending on the channel congestion and the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 10 · 30 Jul 2010 · 7,470 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleAutomated Position System Implementation over Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks in 2-Dimension SpaceSoumen Kanrar, Mohammad SirajProblem statement: The real world scenario have changed from the wired connection to wireless connection. Over the years software development has responded to the increasing growth of wireless connectivity in developing network enabled software. The problem arises in the wireless domain due to random packet loss in transport layer and as well as in data link layer for the end … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2010 · 7,196 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleMultiple Constraints for Ant Based Multicast Routing in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksA. Sabari, K. DuraiswamyProblem statement: A Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is one of the challenging environments for multicast. Since the associated overhead is more, the existing studies illustrate that tree-based and mesh-based on-demand protocols are not the best choice. The costs of the tree under multiple constraints are reduced by the several algorithms which are based on the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2009 · 6,877 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleAn Effective Location-Based Power Conservation Scheme for Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksKhalid Kaabneh, Azmi Halasa, Hussein Al-BahadiliProblem statement: One of the major issues in current reactive routing protocols for Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) is the high bandwidth and power consumptions during the routing process. In this study, we proposed and evaluated the performance of an efficient Location-Based Power Conservation (LBPC) scheme for MANETs. Approach: In this scheme, the transmitting node utilized the location-information of the … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 6, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2009 · 6,839 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleReducing Broadcast Overhead Using Clustering Based Broadcast Mechanism in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworkN. Karthikeyan, V. Palanisamy, K. DuraiswamyProblem statement: Network wide broadcasting is an important function in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANET), which attempts to deliver packets from a source node to all other nodes in the network. Broadcasting is often very useful for route discovery, naming, addressing and helping multicast operations in all kinds of networks. For designing broadcast protocols for ad hoc networks, one of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2009 · 7,034 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleVirtual Mobility to Improve Cooperation in Mobile Ad hoc NetworksA. Baaziz, S. PierreWe study the impact of mobility on the level of cooperation between mobile nodes in a mobile ad hoc network. In a mobile ad hoc network, if the nodes are static or have a reduced mobility and if some nodes adopt a selfish behaviour, the performance of the network is affected. This is because the same nodes that are relaying … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2008 · 6,961 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titlePerformance Analysis of Clustering Protocols in Mobile Ad hoc NetworksSharmila J. Francis, Elijah B. RajsinghNetwork clustering is an important technique widely used in efficient MANETs network management, hierarchical routing protocol design, network modeling, Quality of Service, etc. Recently many researchers are focusing on clustering which is one of the fundamental problems in mobile ad hoc networks. This article presents the descriptions of recently proposed clustering algorithms and is categorized into different approaches that support … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2008 · 6,950 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleEnsuring Multi Messages Broadcasting in Mobile Ad Hoc Network using Network Coding ApproachS. V.M.G. Bavithiraja, R. RadhakrishnanProblem statement: In mobile adhoc network, broadcasting is a common operation for route establishment and for sending control and emergency messages. Most of the existing broadcasting algorithms consider broadcasting from single source node and consider only single message broadcasting. Initiating multiple messages broadcasting from multiple sources is a challenging task which requires minimum number of retransmission made by the forwarding … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 6 · 17 Mar 2012 · 7,059 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleA Fast Handover Scheme for Multicasting in IPv6 based Mobile Ad hoc NetworksH. Parveen Sultana, M. Pounambal, Dr. P. Venkata KrishnaProblem statement: In the previous researches, steps were taken to resolve the problems of multicasting, after several discussions. Actually these issues were raised, while multicasting packets from Internet Protocol (IP) to Mobile Nodes (MN). On the other hand, there is very little concern about the problem of packet loss reduction. Sometimes the occurrence of multicast service chaos is ignored during … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 1 · 16 Dec 2010 · 7,248 accessesView PDFCite
