Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Variable Neighborhood Search Algorithm for Assigning Cells to Switches in Wireless NetworksMatthieu Andr, Gilles Pesant, Samuel PierreThe problem of assigning cells to switches in wireless networks consists of minimizing the total operating cost, that is, the cost of linking cells to switches and the cost of handover from one cell to another, by taking into account factors such as network topology, switch capacity and traffic load in the entire network. Such a problem is well known … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 2 · 30 Jun 2005 · 6,748 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDynamic Reconfiguration of IP Domain Middleware Stacks to Support Multicast Multimedia Distribution in a Heterogeneous EnvironmentKevin Curran, Gerard ParrSeamless connectivity to multiple wireless networks independently of a fixed point is becoming increasingly important for mobile devices however wireless networks differ in bandwidth, size and access costs each requiring protocol functions to enable devices to communicate efficiently. In addition, due to the divergence of users and applications, traditional stacks are frequently enriched with additional functionality such as transport protocol … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 1 · 31 Mar 2005 · 6,781 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordAn Evolutionary Algorithmic Approach based Optimal Web Service Selection for Composition with Quality of ServiceD. Palanikkumar, G. KousalyaProblem statement: Web service is a technology that provides flexibility and interconnection between different distributed applications over the Internet and intranets. When a client request cannot be satisfied by any individual service, existing web services can be combined into a composite web service. When there are a large number of Web services available, it is not easy to find an … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 4 · 10 Feb 2012 · 6,762 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordAnalysis of Decision Trees in Context Clustering of Hidden Markov Model Based Thai Speech SynthesisSuphattharachai ChomphanProblem statement: In Thai speech synthesis using Hidden Markov model (HMM) based synthesis system, the tonal speech quality is degraded due to tone distortion. This major problem must be treated appropriately to preserve the tone characteristics of each syllable unit. Since tone brings about the intelligibility of the synthesized speech. It is needed to establish the tone questions and other … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 3 · 7 Mar 2011 · 6,844 accessesView PDF Cite
