Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleFault Detection and Classification in Power Electronic Circuits Using Wavelet Transform and Neural NetworkVenugopal Prasannamoorthy, Nanjundappan DevarajanProblem statement: The identification of faults in any analog circuit is highly required to ensure the reliability of the circuit. Early detection of faults in a circuit can greatly assist in maintenance of the system by avoiding possibly harmful damage borne out of the fault. Approach: A novel method for establishing a fault dictionary using Wavelet transform is presented. The … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 1 · 15 Jan 2011 · 8,419 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAccurate Wavelet Neural Network for Efficient Controlling of an Active Magnetic Bearing SystemYoussef Harkouss, Souhad Mcheik, Roger AchkarProblem statement: The synthesis of a command by the neural network has an excellent advantage over the classical one such as PID. This study presented a fast and accurate Wavelet Neural Network (WNN) approach for efficient controlling of an Active Magnetic Bearing (AMB) system. Approach: The proposed approach combined neural network with the wavelet theory. Wavelet theory may be exploited … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 12 · 9 Nov 2010 · 15,578 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleNeural Network Change Detection Model for Satellite Images Using Textural and Spectral CharacteristicsA. K. Helmy, Gh. S. El-TaweelProblem statement: Change detection is the process of identifying difference of the state of an object or phenomena by observing it at different time. Essentially, it involves the ability to quantify temporal effects using multi-temporal data sets. Information about change is necessary for evaluating land cover and the management of natural resources. Approach: A neural network model based on both … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 3, Issue 4 · 4 Nov 2010 · 8,162 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleImproving the Performance of Backpropagation Neural Network Algorithm for Image Compression/Decompression SystemOmaima N.A. AL-AllafProblem statement: The problem inherent to any digital image is the large amount of bandwidth required for transmission or storage. This has driven the research area of image compression to develop algorithms that compress images to lower data rates with better quality.
