Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFatal Pulmonary Hemorrhage Through Fiberoptic Broncoscopy in a Well Controlled Diabetic Female With MucormycosisP. Di Carlo, D. Cabibi, A. Mazzola et al.A rare case of invasive pulmonary mucormycosis complicated by fatal massive haemoptysis through bronchoscopy in a patient with a well controlled diabetes is reported. Histological features of infection are reported and the characteristic aspects of the staining are discussed. Fiberoptic bronchoscopy revealed bilateral obstruction of the segmental bronchi and fatal massive bleeding occurring because of biopsy sampling. Caution is warranted … …American Journal of Infectious Diseases, Vol. 4, Issue 3 · 30 Sep 2008 · 7,187 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSelf-Generation ART-1 Neural Network with Gradient-Descent Method Aid for Latin Alphabet RecognitionMbaïtiga ZacharieProblem statement: In this study a self-generation ART-1 neural network that is an efficient algorithm that emulates the self-organizing pattern recognition developed to avoid the stability-plasticity dilemma in competitive networks learning, is presented for Latin alphabet recognition to use in a vision system for road sings recognition. Approach: The first step of our approach deals with the training process where … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2008 · 6,568 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEvolution of Biochemical Parameters During Composting of Various Wastes CompostN. Saidi, M. Cherif, N. Jedidi et al.In Tunisia the most treatment waste is landfill (50% of wastes were land filled) and only 5% are composted. And since our soil become more and more poor in organic matter, green waste can be a significant source of organic matter; in parallel we cited the domestic waste and dead posodonia collected from beaches. All these wastes coming from various … …American Journal of Environmental Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 4 · 31 Aug 2008 · 6,937 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSimulation of Convective Heat-Transfer Coefficient in a Buried ExchangerTaoufik Mnasri, Rached Ben Younès, Maher Raddaoui, Salem ElouraginiThis study presents analytical models allowing to study a forced convection laminar flow in non-established dynamic and thermic regimes. We treated a flow in a bitubular exchanger in permanent thermal contact with a semi-infinite medium, such as the ground. The wall temperature as well as the wall heat flux evolve in the course of time until a quasi-steady mode. The … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2008 · 6,903 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractHydropower System Management Considering the Minimum OutflowM. L. Arganis, R. DomínguezThis paper deals with the operating rules of the Grijalva River hydropower serial system obtained by means of stochastic dynamic programming and its subsequent simulation using historical records and synthetic series. Penalties in spills and deficit were considered in optimum policies. During simulation several restrictions were added to the original problem, particularly to ensure minimum outflow so as to guarantee … …American Journal of Environmental Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 3 · 30 Jun 2008 · 6,544 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAnalysis of Speech Processing Strategies in Cochlear ImplantsKouachi Rouiha, Djedou Bachir, Bouchaala AliCochlear implants can restore partial hearing to profoundly deaf people; the main function of these prostheses is to electrically stimulate the auditory nerve using an electrode array inserted in the cochlea. The acoustic signal is picked up by a microphone and analyzed. Then the extracted parameters of the signal are coded to generate electrical signals reconstituting the original signal. Currently … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 5 · 31 May 2008 · 6,840 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractAn Effective Data Transformation Approach for Privacy Preserving ClusteringR. R. Rajalaxmi, A. M. NatarajanA new stream of research privacy preserving data mining emerged due to the recent advances in data mining, Internet and security technologies. Data sharing among organizations considered to be useful which offer mutual benefit for business growth. Preserving the privacy of shared data for clustering was considered as the most challenging problem. To overcome the problem, the data owner published … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 4 · 30 Apr 2008 · 7,117 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractImage Recognition Using Combination of Discrete Multi_Wavelet and Wavenet TransformDr Mikhled AlfaouriFocus of the method was to present image identification and labeling using new combination of dynamic transforms. This method is based on using the combination of the Discrete Multi-wavelet Transform (DMWT) and Wavenet Transform (WN). In this method, the resulting coefficients were computed by the proposed multi-wavelets transform for single-level decomposition. The low pass sub bands of the upper left … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 4 · 30 Apr 2008 · 7,089 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractRounding Theorem the Possibility of Applying the Cryptosystems on the Decimal NumbersRand Alfaris, Muhamad Rezal Kamel Ariffin, Mohamed Rushdan Md SaidThe possibility of using the decimal numbers in cryptography as the base of the encryption and decryption is proposed by introducing the "Rounding Theorem". Until now, cryptosystems are used the integer numbers to avoid the fractions of the decimal numbers. That is to avoid losing the original plaintext after the decryption. This theorem is proved that there is no lost … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 4, Issue 1 · 31 Mar 2008 · 7,210 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEdge Detection in Gray Level Images based on the Shannon EntropyBaljit Singh, Amar P. SinghMost of the classical mathematical methods for edge detection based on the derivative of the pixels of the original image are Gradient operators, Laplacian and Laplacian of Gaussian operators. Gradient based edge detection methods, such as Roberts, Sobel and Prewitts, have used two 2-D linear filters to process vertical edges and horizontal edges separately to approximate first-order derivative of pixel … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2008 · 7,885 accessesView PDFCite
