Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractUnsupervised Cosegmentation Model based on Saliency Detection and Optimized Hue Saturation Value Features of SuperpixelsRasha Shoitan, Mona M. MoussaSegmenting out the foreground from a single image remains a challenge in computer vision. Image co-segmentation has been used recently to alleviate the single image segmentation by exploiting the information of the common object to be segmented from a group of images having the same object. This research proposes an unsupervised co-segmentation technique based on saliency detection and optimized features … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 17, Issue 7 · 3 Aug 2021 · 7,009 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractWEEDS IDENTIFICATION USING EVOLUTIONARY ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ALGORITHMAhmed M. Tobal, Sahar A. MokhtarIn a world reached a population of six billion humans increasingly demand it for food, feed with a water shortage and the decline of agricultural land and the deterioration of the climate needs 1.5 billion hectares of agricultural land and in case of failure to combat pests needs about 4 billion hectares. Weeds represent 34% of the whole pests while … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 10, Issue 8 · 4 Mar 2014 · 7,827 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF GRAY LEVEL CO-OCCURRENCE MATRIX TEXTURE FEATURES FOR GLAUCOMA DIAGNOSISSakthivel Karthikeyan, N. RengarajanGlaucoma is a multifactorial optic neuropathy disease characterized by elevated Intra Ocular Pressure (IOP). As the visual loss caused by the disease is irreversible, early detection is essential. Fundus images are used as input and it is preprocessed using histogram equalization. First order features from histogram and second order features from Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) are extracted from the … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 11, Issue 2 · 24 Dec 2013 · 7,332 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractOptimized Local Ternary Patterns: A New Texture Model with Set of Optimal Patterns for Texture AnalysisG. Madasamy Raja, V. SadasivamTexture analysis is one of the important as well as useful tasks in image processing applications. Many texture models have been developed over the past few years and Local Binary Patterns (LBP) is one of the simple and efficient approach among them. A number of extensions to the LBP method have been also presented but the problem remains challenging in … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 1 · 22 Jan 2013 · 6,955 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFusion of Features and Extreme Learning Machine for Facial Expression RecognitionBayezid Islam, Arfat HossainHuman emotion is highly correlated to facial expressions. Due to its growing demand in different sectors, an emotion recognition method is proposed through recognizing facial expressions. The input image is preprocessed and then the resulting image is segmented into four facial expression regions following the newly proposed segmentation method. Histogram of Oriented Gradients (HOG) and Local Binary Patterns (LBP) are … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 15, Issue 12 · 28 Dec 2019 · 7,407 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractArabic Sign Language TranslatorAbdelmoty M. Ahmed, Reda Abo Alez, Gamal Tharwat et al.Development of systems that can recognize the gestures of Arabic Sign language (ArSL) provides a method for hearing impaired to easily integrate into society. This paper aims to develop a computational structure for an intelligent translator to recognize the isolated dynamic gestures of the ArSL. In our proposed system we build a datasets for ArSL from scratch of, we used … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 15, Issue 10 · 26 Oct 2019 · 8,371 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Multiple-Chaotic Approach for SteganographyHaneen H. Alwan, Zahir M. HussainIn a recent work, chaos has been utilized to modify addresses of message bits while hidden in a cover image. In this study, we extend the above technique to include multiple chaotic maps for increased security. Three systems have been modified using chaotic-address mapping for image steganography in the spatial domain. The first system, the well-known LSB technique, is based … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 15, Issue 10 · 17 Oct 2019 · 7,432 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPedestrian Recognition Based on Multi-Scale Weighted HOGMonther Hussein Al-BsoolPedestrian recognition receives a great attention in recent years due to its importance in traffic accidents identification. Traffic surveillance systems can provide valuable information for pedestrian recognition using computer vision and image processing techniques. Most techniques exploit simple feature extraction and multi-stage feature matching to train classifiers. In this study, Canny edge information and Histogram of Oriented Gradient (HOG) has … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 14, Issue 11 · 7 Nov 2018 · 7,161 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractInformation Hiding using Chaotic-Address SteganographyOla N. Kadhim, Zahir M. HussainIn this study, two techniques are introduced for imagesteganography in the spatial domain. These systems employ chaos theory to trackthe addresses of shuffled bits in steganography. The first system is based onthe well-known LSB technique, while the second system is based on a recentapproach that searches for the identical bits between the secret message andthe cover image. A modified logistic … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 14, Issue 9 · 27 Sep 2018 · 7,687 accessesView PDFCite
