Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleCache Based Distributed Query Processing in Mobile Ad hoc NetworksT. P. Andamuthu, P. BalasubramanieProblem statement: In the last few years, the evolution of the mobile networks leads to the query processing in mobile computing an impressive research area. The mobile computing technology needs to offer more and different innovative services as the number of users of the mobiles were increasing. In this regard, this study proposed a new algorithm which increased the performance … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 5 · 7 May 2011 · 6,763 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleA Combined Solution for Routing and Medium Access Control Layer Attacks in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksR. Murugan, A. ShanmugamProblem statement: In Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET), both the routing layer and the Medium Access Control (MAC) layer are vulnerable to several attacks. There are very few techniques to detect and isolate the attacks of both these layers simultaneously. In this study, we developed a combined solution for routing and MAC layer attacks. Approach: Our approach, makes use of … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 12 · 4 Nov 2010 · 7,137 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleAutomated Position System Implementation over Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks in 2-Dimension SpaceSoumen Kanrar, Mohammad SirajProblem statement: The real world scenario have changed from the wired connection to wireless connection. Over the years software development has responded to the increasing growth of wireless connectivity in developing network enabled software. The problem arises in the wireless domain due to random packet loss in transport layer and as well as in data link layer for the end … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 2 · 28 Feb 2010 · 7,196 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleVirtual Mobility to Improve Cooperation in Mobile Ad hoc NetworksA. Baaziz, S. PierreWe study the impact of mobility on the level of cooperation between mobile nodes in a mobile ad hoc network. In a mobile ad hoc network, if the nodes are static or have a reduced mobility and if some nodes adopt a selfish behaviour, the performance of the network is affected. This is because the same nodes that are relaying … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2008 · 6,961 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleAdding Quality of Service Extensions to the Enhanced Associativity Based Routing Protocol for Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANET)Ayman Mansour Murad, Bassam Al-MahadeenThis paper described how to discover routes that can satisfy QoS service requirements by using extensions to the Enhanced Associativity Bases Routing Protocol (EABR). These extensions were added to the messages used during route discovery. These extensions specify the service requirements, which must be met by nodes re-broadcasting a route request or returning a route reply for a destination. The … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 11 · 30 Nov 2007 · 6,710 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleSimulation of the Enhanced Associativity Based Routing Protocol for Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANET)Ayman Mansour Murad, Bassam Al-MahadeenThe simulations results showed that the overall EABR enhancement, when compared with ABR, in terms of communication overhead was ranging from 36% to 56%. While the overall EABR enhancement in terms of number of operation required to reconstructing the route was ranging from 36% to 55%. These enhancements were contributed to the novel way in route reconstructing introduced by EABR. …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 6 · 30 Jun 2007 · 6,964 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleEnhanced Route Re-Construction Method for Associativity Based Routing Protocol for Mobile Ad hoc NETworks (MANET)Fawaz A.M. Masoud, Said A. Shaar, Ayman Murad, Ghassan KanaanA mobile Ad-hoc NETwork (MANET) is wireless network composed of mobile nodes that are dynamically and randomly located in such a manner that the interconnections between nodes are capable of changing on a continual basis. In order to facilitate communication within the network, a routing protocol is used to discover routes between nodes. The primary goal of such an ad-hoc … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 12 · 31 Dec 2006 · 6,546 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleA Fast Handover Scheme for Multicasting in IPv6 based Mobile Ad hoc NetworksH. Parveen Sultana, M. Pounambal, Dr. P. Venkata KrishnaProblem statement: In the previous researches, steps were taken to resolve the problems of multicasting, after several discussions. Actually these issues were raised, while multicasting packets from Internet Protocol (IP) to Mobile Nodes (MN). On the other hand, there is very little concern about the problem of packet loss reduction. Sometimes the occurrence of multicast service chaos is ignored during … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 1 · 16 Dec 2010 · 7,248 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titlePERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF WORMHOLE SECURITY APPROACHES FOR AD-HOC NETWORKSIsmail Hababeh, Issa Khalil, Abdallah Khreishah, Samir BatainehAd-hoc networks are talented but are exposed to the risk of wormhole attacks. However, a wormhole attack can be mounted easily and forms stern menaces in networks, particularly against various ad-hoc wireless networks. The Wormhole attack distorts the network topology and decrease the network systems performance. Therefore, identifying the possibility of wormhole attacks and recognizing techniques to defend them are … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 12 · 25 Nov 2013 · 6,622 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAn Optimized Ad Hoc on Demand Distance Vector Routing Protocol for Wireless NetworksV. Ponniyin Selvan, S. Senthil KumarProblem statement: Wireless Mesh Networks (WMN) is communication network made up of mesh routers and mesh clients, with mesh routers forming the backbone of the network. The WMN can be accessed by other networks through gateways and bridging functions in the mesh routers. The mesh clients can either be static or mobile with an option of forming a client mesh … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 7 · 21 Jun 2012 · 7,168 accessesView PDFCite
