Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPredicting Students’ Academic Performance in the University Using Meta Decision Tree ClassifiersShanthini A., G. Vinodhini, R.M. ChandrasekaranStudent performance prediction is an area of concern for educational institutions. At the University level learning system, the method or rule adopted to identify the candidates who pass or fail differs depending on various factors such as the course, the department of study and so on. Predicting the result of a student in a course is an issue that has … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 14, Issue 5 · 28 Feb 2018 · 9,200 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractTECHNICAL ANALYSIS OF FUZZY METAGRAPH BASED DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR CAPITAL MARKETAnbalagan Thirunavukarasu, Uma MaheswariThis study proposes a Fuzzy Metagraph based Decision Support System (DSS) for short term and long term investment in share market. This rule base decision system will help traders to make correct decision at very low risk. Relative Strength Index (RSI), Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) and WILLIAM- %R are some of the Technical Indicators which are used as input … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 9 · 6 Aug 2013 · 6,693 accessesView PDFCite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDecision Based Development of Productline: A Quintessence Usability ApproachR.V. Siva Balan, M. PunithavalliProblem statement: A well designed user interface is comprehensible and controllable, helping users to complete their work successfully and efficiently and to feel competent and satisfied. To improve the usability of a software system, usability patterns can be applied. However, there are short comes shows that the software architecture of a system restricts certain usability patterns from being modified after … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 5 · 7 May 2011 · 6,881 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA New Method for Accuracy Assessment of Sub-Pixel Classification ResultsH. Emami, B. MojaradiProblem statement: Classification accuracy assessment is the main stage of information extraction to evaluate the performance of a classifier. According to the output's classifiers (thematic map/fraction map), a properly strategy for accuracy assessment should be taken into consideration. Since pure pixels are used in traditional accuracy assessment of full pixel classifiers they are not suitable for assessment of sub-pixel classifiers. … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 2, Issue 2 · 30 Jun 2009 · 7,482 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractFast Power Loss Computation and Shunt Capacitor Insertion Using Fuzzy Logic TechniqueWagah F. Mohammad, Nabil Tawalbeh, Kasim M. Al-AubidyFast power loss computation was implemented using supervisory control and data acquisition system (SCADA) with personal computer. Logic Control Array (LCA) and EPROM circuits were used to implement SCADA system to facilitate the required measurements to obtain the daily load profile for residential and commercial customers. LCA, EPROM and PC were used to simplify the electronic circuits, reduce the cost … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 1 · 30 Apr 2007 · 7,395 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractIn-silico Rational Protein Engineering and Design Approach to Improve Thermostability of a Haloalkane Dehalogenase EnzymeRaghunath Satpathy, V. Badireenath Konkimalla, Jagnyeswar RathaThermostability of enzymes is a major prerequisite for use in industrial enzymology. There are as such no simple general principles for achieving thermostability in case of enzymes as many factors are required to fulfil for different enzymes. The present study describes computational methods to design thermostable haloalkane dehalogenase enzyme using the crystal structure available Protein Data Bank (PDB ID: 1EDE). … …Current Research in Bioinformatics, Vol. 4, Issue 2 · 13 Oct 2015 · 8,285 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractEffective Authentication Technique for Distributed Denial of Service Attacks in Wireless Local Area NetworksM. Moorthy, S. SathiyabamaProblem statement: In 802.11-based Wireless LAN (WLAN), there is an mproved risk of security attacks. To defeat concealed attacks, there is a necessity to authenticate both access points and wireless stations. Approach: We propose a defensive technique for DDoS attack in WLAN. This authentication technique includes an Authentication Server (AS) in addition to the Wireless Station (WS) and Access Point … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 6 · 14 Mar 2012 · 7,079 accessesView PDFCite
