It was based on the combination of Cortex processor (Software core) and Field Programmable Gate … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 6 · 22 Mar 2012 · 7,038 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleDesign of a Fuzzy Logic Sliding mode Model Following Controller for a Brushless DC Servomotor DriversPhongsak PhakamachProblem statement: A brushless DC servomotor position control system using a fuzzy logic sliding mode model following controller or FLSMFC is presented. Approach: The FLSMFC structure consists of an integrator and variable structure system. Results: The integrator ensures the elimination of steady state error due to step and ramp command inputs, while the fuzzy control would maintain the insensitivity to … …Energy Research Journal, Vol. 2, Issue 1 · 26 Jan 2012 · 7,198 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAdaptive Controllers for Permanent Magnet Brushless DC Motor Drive System using Adaptive-Network-based Fuzzy Interference SystemV.M. Varatharaju, Badrilal Mathur, UdhayakumarProblem statement: The tuning methodology for the parameters of adaptive speed controller causes a transient deviation of the response from the set reference following variation in load torque in a permanent-magnet brushless DC (BLDC) motor drive system. Approach: This study develops a mathematical model of the BLDC drive system, firstly. Secondly, discusses a design of the closed loop drive system … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 8 · 19 Jul 2011 · 6,948 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleFuzzy Logic Controller for Wireless Video TransmissionK. P. Rajesh, K. S. RamaswamiProblem statement: As the Variable Bit Rate (VBR) is high in MPEG, the video experienced long delay and unexpected data loss. In wireless channel, due to noise and interference of other signals transmission rate cannot be predicted. Approach: In this paper we proposed an intelligent fuzzy logic controller for transmission of Moving Picture Expert Group (MPEG-4) video signals over wireless … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 7 · 30 Jun 2011 · 6,956 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleFuzzy Logic Controller for Static Synchronous Series Compensator with Energy Storage System for Transient Stability AnalysisSona Padma, M. RajaramProblem statement: FACTS devices play a major role in the efficient operation of the complex power system. FACTS devices such as STATCOM, SSSC and IPFC are in increasing usage. With energy storage systems they have a good control over the real as well as reactive power compensation and transient stability improvement. The design of controller for the SSSC with SMES … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 6 · 14 Jun 2011 · 6,699 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titlePower System Oscillations Damping Using Unified Power Flow Controller-Based StabilizerLokman H. Hassan, M. Moghavvemi, Haider A.F. MohamedProblem statement: The Phillips-Heffron model of a power system with UPFC published by AJAS, demonstrates the effect of the UPFC in improving power system oscillation stability. Unfortunately, some of the equations have not been correctly derived and so working with this model in its existing form is misleading. Approach: In this study, the model is revisited and the equations are … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 7, Issue 10 · 31 Oct 2010 · 7,939 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Self-Tuning Proportional-Integral-Derivative Controller for an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle, Based On Taguchi MethodM. Santhakumar, T. AsokanProblem statement: Conventional Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controllers exhibit moderately good performance once the PID gains are properly tuned. However, when the dynamic characteristics of the system are time dependent or the operating conditions of the system vary, it is necessary to retune the gains to obtain desired performance. This situation has renewed the interest of researchers and practitioners in PID control. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2010 · 7,859 accessesView PDFCite
