Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Novel Page Ranking Algorithm for a Personalized Web SearchJ. Jayanthi, K. S. JayakumarProblem statement: Information on the web is growing exponentially. Today, traditional search engines provide results mainly based on the user’s query. Though the context of the query varies, the returned result seems to be same for all users. Accordingly users are expected to search for the relevant results, which is an added overhead to the users. Approach: We propose a … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 7 · 12 May 2012 · 6,998 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractSustainability of International Standards Organisation 14001 Standards through Integration with Lean PrinciplesPuvanasvaran A.L.A. Perumal, Robert Kerk Swee Tian, Mohd Razali MuhamadProblem statement: Both Lean and Environmental Management System (EMS) are key business processes which are employed by companies to enhance their manufacturing process and quality performance. ISO 14001 requires a commitment to continual improvement. Yet it does not prescribe how a company should seek the continual improvement. Lean is a process improvement method that helps companies that use it to … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 11 · 8 Oct 2011 · 6,800 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractOn the Predictability of Risk Box Approach by Genetic Programming Method for Bankruptcy PredictionAlireza Bahiraie, Noor Akma bt Ibrahim, A. K.M. AzharProblem statement: Theoretical based data representation is an important tool for model selection and interpretations in bankruptcy analysis since the numerical representation are much less transparent. Some methodological problems concerning financial ratios such as non-proportionality, non-asymetricity, non-scalicity are solved in this study and we presented a complementary technique for empirical analysis of financial ratios and bankruptcy risk. Approach: This study … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 6, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2009 · 7,953 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPolicy-Based Security for Wireless Components in High Assurance Computer SystemsLuay A. Wahsheh, Jim Alves-FossTo enable the growth of wireless networks in high assurance computer systems, it is essential to establish a security engineering methodology that provides system security managers with a procedural engineering process to develop computer security policies. Our research demonstrates how wireless communication technology is deployed using the Multiple Independent Levels of Security (MILS) architecture for high assurance computer system design … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 9 · 30 Sep 2007 · 7,335 accessesView PDFCite
