Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEffect of Curcumin and Physical Training on the Brain and Motor Performance of Rats with Cerebral IschemiaKarine Sthéfany Serpa Amaral Dias, Jonas Augusto Ramos, Bruno Mattiello Gomes et al.Brain ischemia is the second most deadly disease in the world and it has already been proven that mild and moderate physical exercises minimize the deleterious effects of this disease on the brain. Curcumin has also been considered a neuroprotective substance. Therefore, the goal of this study was to evaluate the effects of high-resistance training and curcumin on the brain … …Neuroscience International, Vol. 10, Issue 1 · 25 Apr 2019 · 7,771 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleBi-Stable Vibration Power Generation System Using Electromagnetic Motor and Efficiency Improvement by Stochastic ResonanceWei Zhao, Yoshiro Fujiwara, Jingchao Guan et al.Research on vibration energy harvesting using stochastic resonance has become an important research topic. A vibration energy harvesting system was developed using electromagnetic motors based on an obliquely supported bistable motion model consisting of a spring mass. After formulating the motion-governing equations of the proposed vibrating system and analyzing its potential energy performance, it was demonstrated that the system exhibits … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 16, Issue 3 · 2 Aug 2023 · 5,739 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleDsPIC Based Power Assisted Steering Using Brushless Direct Current MotorG. R.P. Lakshmi, S. ParamasivamThis study illustrates the Electrically Assisted power Steering (EAS) using BLDC motor for a vehicle. Earlier the Electrically Assisted power Steering (EAS) was implemented with DSP. This study shows the usage of a dsPIC to control the BLDC motor with an encoder. The BLDC motor here is driven by dsPIC through a three phase inverter system. IRAMS type of inverter … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 11 · 26 Sep 2013 · 6,754 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleDesign of Field Programmable Gate Array Based Emulators for Motor Control ApplicationsAhmed Ben Achballah, Slim Ben Othman, Slim Ben SaoudProblem statement: Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) circuits play a significant role in major recent embedded process control designs. However, exploiting these platforms requires deep hardware conception skills and remains an important time consuming stage in a design flow. High Level Synthesis technique avoids this bottleneck and increases design productivity as witnessed by industry specialists. Approach: This study proposes to … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 8 · 12 Jun 2012 · 8,726 accessesView PDFCite

Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleFitting of Finite Mixture Distributions to Motor Insurance ClaimsP. Sattayatham, T. TalangtamProblem statement: The modeling of claims is an important task of actuaries. Our problem is in modelling the actual motor insurance claim data set. In this study, we show that the actual motor insurance claim can be fitted by a finite mixture model. Approach: Firstly, we analyse the actual data set and then we choose the finite mixture Lognormal distributions … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 8, Issue 1 · 16 Jan 2012 · 9,306 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleSpeed Estimation of Adaptive Fuzzy-Controlled Piezo-Electric Motor using MLP-Neural NetworkShebel ALSABBAH, Tariq MUGHRABIThe speed of ultrasonic motor of piezo-electric type is usually measured using mechanical sensors such as pulse encoders. However, these sensors are costly and bulky. In this paper, a numerical speed estimation approach of a piezo-electric motor (PEM) is implemented using multilayer perception neural network (MLP-NN). The proposed model evaluates rotational speed and load torque based on the amplitude and … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 11 · 30 Nov 2008 · 6,790 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleModeling and Simulation of a Novel Switched Reluctance Motor Drive System with Power Factor ImprovementG. Venkatesan, R. Arumugam, M. Vasudevan et al.This study presents a novel Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) drive system with power factor improvement. Recently, many of the converters with variable speed drives have no input power factor correction circuits. This results in harmonic pollution of the utility supply, which should be avoided. The effect of power factor variation in terms of harmonic content is also analyzed in this … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 3, Issue 1 · 31 Jan 2006 · 7,099 accessesView PDFCite
