Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractUsing Neutral Network in Predicting Corporate FailureHuong G. NguyenThis study investigates the predictive power of three neutral network models: Multi-layer neural network, probabilistic neural network, and logistic regression model in predicting corporate failure. Basing on the database provided by The Corporate Scorecard Group (CSG), we combine financial ratios which deem to be significant predictors of corporate bankruptcy in many previous empirical studies to build our predictive models and … …Journal of Social Sciences, Vol. 1, Issue 4 · 31 Dec 2005 · 7,324 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractThe Use of Neural Network to Recognize the Parts of the Computer MotherboardAbbas M. Ali, S. D. Gore, Musaab AL-SarierahThis study suggests a new approach of learning which utilizes the techniques of computer vision to recognize the parts inside the motherboard. The main thrust is to identify different parts of the motherboard using a Hopfield Neural Network. The outcome of the net is compared with the objects stored in the database. The proposed scheme is implemented using bottom -up … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 4 · 31 Dec 2005 · 6,865 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractHybridization of Neural Learning Algorithms Using Evolutionary and Discrete Gradient ApproachesRanadhir Ghosh, John Yearwood, Moumita Ghosh, Adil BagirovIn this study we investigated a hybrid model based on the Discrete Gradient method and an evolutionary strategy for determining the weights in a feed forward artificial neural network. Also we discuss different variants for hybrid models using the Discrete Gradient method and an evolutionary strategy for determining the weights in a feed forward artificial neural network. The Discrete Gradient … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 3 · 30 Sep 2005 · 6,587 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDesign and Analysis of a Smart Multi Purpose Electronic Nose SystemMahmoud Z. Iskandarani, Nidal F. ShilbayehAn electronic nose system for multi application purposes is designed and tested. Our hardware design allows various types of sensors to be used for different applications. The system is capable of being interfaced to both analog and digital instruments with special filtering devices that isolate the system from surrounding signals. The design of the system is distinguished through the use … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 1 · 31 Mar 2005 · 6,937 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractQuality Control of Coffee Using an Electronic Nose SystemNidal F. Shilbayeh, Mahmoud Z. IskandaraniAn electronic nose system for quality control of coffee is designed and tested. The system uses the Figaro TGS800 series sensors with an integrated heating element. The testing of the system is carried out using different types of coffee where it is proved successful in classifying the tested coffees and actual discrimination of ingredients into different classes[10]. Database based software … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 1, Issue 2 · 30 Jun 2004 · 7,540 accessesView PDF Cite
