Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleConstructing Fuzzy Time Series Model Based on Fuzzy Clustering for a ForecastingAshraf K. Abd Elaal, Hesham A. Hefny, Ashraf H. Abd ElwahabProblem statement: In this study researchers introduced a fuzzy time series model depending on fuzzy clustering to solve the problem in which the membership values are assumed as Song and Chissom model and to increase the performance of fuzzy time series model. Approach: Proposed model employed seven main procedures in time-invariant fuzzy time-series and time-variant fuzzy time series models. Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleWeb-Enabled Framework for Real-Time Scheduler Simulator: A Teaching ToolC. Yaashuwanth, R. RameshProblem statement: A Real-Time System (RTS) is one which controls an environment by receiving data, processing it, and returning the results quickly enough to affect the functioning of the environment at that time. The main objective of this research was to develop an architectural model for the simulation of real time tasks to implement in distributed environment through web, and … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 4 · 30 Apr 2010 · 7,273 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleOptimized Crossover Genetic Algorithm for Vehicle Routing Problem with Time WindowsH. Nazif, L.S. LeeProblem statement: In this study, we considered the application of a genetic algorithm to vehicle routing problem with time windows where a set of vehicles with limits on capacity and travel time are available to service a set of customers with demands and earliest and latest time for serving. The objective is to find routes for the vehicles to service … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 7, Issue 1 · 31 Jan 2010 · 8,975 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleSelf-Adjustment Time Quantum in Round Robin Algorithm Depending on Burst Time of the Now Running ProcessesRami J. MatarnehProblem statement: The performance and efficiency of multitasking operating systems mainly depends on the used CPU scheduling algorithm where the CPU is one of the primary computer resources and as round robin scheduling algorithm is considered most widely used scheduling algorithms in this research a new proposed variant of this algorithm presented, discussed in detail, tested and verified. Approach: The … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 6, Issue 10 · 31 Oct 2009 · 8,934 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleCompetition Effects of Date of Sowing and Nutsedge Removal Time on Yield and Yield Contributing Characters of Tef [Eragrostis tef (Zucc.) Trotter]Abdul Shukor Juraimi, Mahfuza Begum, Ahmed Mohammed Sherif, Anuar Abdul RahimProblem statement: Tef [Eragrostis tef (Zucc.) Trotter] is a C4 grass, most important indigenous cereal crop in Ethiopia. The average grain yield of this crop is low; averaging <0.8 Mg ha-1. Under appropriate cultural practices such as the right sowing date, sowing rate, weeding time and fertilizer application, tef could produce grain yields of 2200-4599 kg ha-1. A delay in … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 6, Issue 10 · 31 Oct 2009 · 7,137 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleComparison of Bleeding Time and Clotting Time in Different Blood GroupsB. Mahapatra, N. MishraProblem statement: Researchers have demonstrated that epistaxis is more often encountered in patients having blood group O probably due to lower expression of von Willebrand factor. We had taken up this study to find out if there is any definite relationship between the blood groups with the bleeding time and clotting time in our population. Approach: This retrospective study was … …American Journal of Infectious Diseases, Vol. 5, Issue 2 · 30 Jun 2009 · 10,976 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleNeural Networks Based Time-Delay Estimation using DCT CoefficientsSamir J. Shaltaf, Ahmad A. MohammadThis study dealt with the problem of estimating constant time delay embedded into a received signal that was noisy, delayed and damped image of a known reference signal. The received signal was filtered, normalized with respect to the peak value it achieved and then transformed by the Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) into DCT coefficients. Those DCT coefficients that were most … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 6, Issue 4 · 30 Apr 2009 · 7,479 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleResponse Time Optimization for Replica Selection Service in Data GridsHusni H.E. AL-Mistarihi, Chan H. YongProblem Statement: Data Grid architecture provides a scalable infrastructure for grid services in order to manage data files and their corresponding replicas that were distributed across the globe. The grid services are designed to support a variety of data grid applications (jobs) and projects. Replica selection is a high-level service that chooses a replica location from among many distributed replicas … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 6 · 30 Jun 2008 · 6,495 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleOn the Stability of a Certain Class of Linear Time-Varying SystemsM. De la SenThis study firstly considers the exponential stability of unforced linear systems of slowly time-varying dynamics. Possible switchings of the system structure to unstable dynamics during certain finite time intervals are admitted. The maintenance of global exponential stability does not necessarily require at most a finite number of switchings in the dynamics while infinitely many switches can also lead to stability. … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 2, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2005 · 6,935 accessesView PDFCite
