Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Novel Routing Protocol with High Energy Performance in Mobile Special NetworksAli Norouzi, B. Berk UstundagProblem statement: Mobile Special Networks do not have a predetermined structure. This type of networks can dynamically reorganize network connection relationships due to change of neighborhoods and the relative positions. Approach: There are many problems in creation of a special network such as routing, wireless media, energy consumption and transportability. Results: Although these networks primarily had been formed for small … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 1 · 15 Jan 2011 · 7,306 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleHistory Based Contention Window Control in IEEE 802.11 MAC Protocol in Error Prone ChannelAli Balador, Ali Movaghar, Sam JabbehdariProblem statement: IEEE 802.11 Medium Access Control (MAC) protocol is one of the most implemented protocols in this network. The IEEE 802.11 controls the access to the share wireless channel within competing stations. The IEEE 802.11 DCF doubles the Contention Window (CW) size for decreasing the collision within contending stations and to improve the network performances but it is not … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 2 · 28 Jul 2010 · 7,667 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleQuantum Key Distribution Using Decoy State ProtocolSellami Ali, Shuhairi Saharudin, M. R.B. WahiddinProblem statement: Quantum key distribution provides unconditional security guaranteed by the fundamental laws of quantum physics. Unfortunately, for real-life experimental set-ups, which mainly based on faint laser pulses, the occasional production of multi-photons and channel loss make it possible for sophisticated eavesdroppers to launch various subtle eavesdropping attacks including the Photon Number Splitting (PNS) attack. The decoy state protocols recently … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 2, Issue 4 · 31 Dec 2009 · 8,441 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titlePerformance Evaluation of Stable Weight-Based on Demand Routing Protocol for Mobile Ad Hoc NetworkOon Chong Hsi, Azizol AbdullahProblem statement: A MANET is an autonomous collection of mobile users that communicate over relatively bandwidth constrained wireless links. Since the nodes are mobile, the network topology may change rapidly and unpredictably over time. Approach: A Stable Weight-based On demand Routing Protocol (SWORP) that uses the weight-based route strategy to select a stable route was created by Wang. But SWORP … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 10 · 31 Oct 2009 · 6,933 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleReconciling the Bio Safety Protocol and the WTO Regime: Problems, Perspectives and PossibilitiesP. G. Gayathri, Reshma R. KurupProblem statement: The issue of regulation of international trade in Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) evokes a very unique, passionate and emotional debate between environmentalists and businesses. At the conceptual level itself, like most other multilateral environmental agreements, the Cartagena Protocol appears to be incompatible with the WTO Rules. Approach: Further, since there is precious little scientific certainty on the actual … …American Journal of Economics and Business Administration, Vol. 1, Issue 3 · 30 Sep 2009 · 7,782 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleIntegrated Metric-Ad Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector: A Routing Protocol over Wireless Mesh NetworksMd. Arafatur Rahman, Farhat Anwar, Md. Saiful AzadProblem statement: Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) is an emerging technology for wireless environment. Since WMNs are permanent or semi-permanent network, an efficient and reliable path establishment is the core concern for such type of networks. Several performance metrics has been designed for WMNs such as Expected Transmission Count (ETX), Expected Transmission Time (ETT), interference Aware Routing Metric (iAWARE), Link Type … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 7 · 31 Jul 2009 · 7,498 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleA Channel Adaptive Energy Efficient and Fair Scheduling Media Access Control Protocol for Mobile AdHoc NetworksP. Priakanth, P. ThangarajProblem statement: A major drawback in the existing protocols in dealing with energy management issues is that the time varying nature of the wireless channels among the ad hoc nodes is ignored. Approach: This study proposed a channel adaptive energy efficient Medium Access Control (MAC) protocol, for efficient packets scheduling and queuing in an ad hoc network, with time varying … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 5, Issue 1 · 31 Jan 2009 · 7,557 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleThe Use of Taguchi Method to Determine Factors Affecting the Performance of Destination Sequence Distance Vector Routing Protocol in Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksHazura. Mohamed, Muhammad Hisyam Lee, Mazalan Sarahintu et al.In this study, Taguchi method was used to identify the several factors that may affect the performance of Destination Sequence Distance Vector (DSDV) routing protocol. The performance of DSDV routing protocol in mobile ad hoc networks were greatly influence by factors such as node speed, node pause time and traffic load. Problem statement: By using orthogonal experimental design and analysis … …Journal of Mathematics and Statistics, Vol. 4, Issue 4 · 31 Dec 2008 · 7,803 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAnimation of Natural Language Specifications of Authentication ProtocolsMabroka A. Mayouf, Zarina ShukurProblem Statement: A few visualization tools have been created for protocol design and analysis. Although these tools provide an environment for designing security protocols, each one has its own protocol definition language (its also called informal specification language). The problem is that the user should understand the language which related to the used tool in order to define an exist … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 4, Issue 7 · 31 Jul 2008 · 6,736 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAn Improved Resource Reservation ProtocolDesire Oulai, Steven Chamberland, Samuel PierreThe classical resource reservation protocol (RSVP) is a flow-based signaling protocol used for reserving resources in the network for a given session. RSVP maintains state information for each reservation at every router along the path. Even though this protocol is very popular, he has some weaknesses. Indeed, RSVP does not include a bidirectional reservation process and it requires refresh messages … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2007 · 6,491 accessesView PDFCite
