Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractTEXT SIGNAGE RECOGNITION IN ANDROID MOBILE DEVICESOi-Mean Foong, Suziah Sulaiman, Kiing Kiu LingThis study presents a Text Signage Recognition (TSR) model in Android mobile devices for Visually Impaired People (VIP). Independence navigation is always a challenge to VIP for indoor navigation in unfamiliar surroundings. Assistive Technology such as Android smart devices has great potential to assist VIPs in indoor navigation using built-in speech synthesizer. In contrast to previous TSR research which was … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 12 · 25 Nov 2013 · 6,700 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Hybrid Approach Based Medical Image Retrieval System Using Feature Optimized Classification Similarity FrameworkYogapriya Jaganathan, Ila VennilaFor the past few years, massive upgradation is obtained in the pasture of Content Based Medical Image Retrieval (CBMIR) for effective utilization of medical images based on visual feature analysis for the purpose of diagnosis and educational research. The existing medical image retrieval systems are still not optimal to solve the feature dimensionality reduction problem which increases the computational complexity … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 6 · 6 Jun 2013 · 7,023 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractHybrid of Fuzzy Clustering Neural Network Over NSL Dataset for Intrusion Detection SystemDahlia Asyiqin Ahmad Zainaddin, Zurina Mohd HanapiIntrusion Detection System (IDS) is one of the component that take part in the system defence, to identify abnormal activities happening in the computer system. Nowadays, IDS facing composite demands to defeat modern attack activities from damaging the computer systems. Anomaly-Based IDS examines ongoing traffic, activity, transactions and behavior in order to identify intrusions by detecting anomalies. These technique identifies … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 3 · 4 May 2013 · 6,574 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Framework for MRI Image Retrieval Using Curvelet Transform and Euclidean DistanceRajakumar, MuttanContent Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) system supports users to retrieve relevant medical images based on their features. Current content based image retrieval systems are incapable of providing exact results to the users. To address this problem a consistent feature extraction method is required for content based medical image retrieval system to extract similar features from the images. In this study … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 9, Issue 3 · 12 Apr 2013 · 6,520 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractNumerical Simulation of the Transient Flow in Natural Gas Transmission Lines Using a Computational Fluid Dynamic MethodPedram Ghaseminejad, Nikan NoorbeheshtUntil now, almost all tools that are used to analyze gas transportation networks are based on steady flow conditions. Some design problems can be solved by the assumption of a steady state. However, some circumstances force us to use transient analyses, which commonly include changes in customer demand, the failure of a compressor station or gas pipeline ruptures. In this … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 1 · 6 Jan 2013 · 7,457 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordSensor Technologies for Precision Soil Nutrient Management and MonitoringA. Bah, S. K. Balasundram, M. H.A. HusniProblem statement: Growing concerns about the need to increase crop productivity without causing environmental injury have led to the deployment of site-specific strategies in soil nutrient management, where nutrients are applied in variable rates to fit local requirements. Variable rate application of nutrients is typically based on a rigorous sampling regime and time-consuming data analyses. The ability to monitor soil … …American Journal of Agricultural and Biological Sciences, Vol. 7, Issue 1 · 25 Jan 2012 · 9,127 accessesView PDF Cite

EditorialOpen accessAll words, across the recordUse of Design of Experiments and Manuscripts Rejection RateAydin Berenjian, Jason RyanTraditional one-variable-at-a-time method was and still is for some researchers, the general procedure to determine the optimal conditions for a chemical, biochemical or biological mechanism. According to this technique, a large number of experiments should be performed to obtain a high precision in effect assessment and also the interaction among the variables cannot be defined. To overcome the limitations of … …American Journal of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Vol. 11, Issue 2 · 8 Jun 2015 · 7,167 accessesView PDF Cite
