Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Policy Based Scheme for Combined Data Security in Mobile Ad hoc NetworksL. Kartheesn, S. K. SrivatsaProblem statement: In Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET) routing protocols, we require a network-level or link layer security. Since without appropriate security provisions, the MANETs is subjected to attacks like network traffic, replay transmissions, manipulate packet headers and redirect routing messages. In order to address these needs, a policy based network management system that provides the capability to express network … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 8 · 6 Aug 2012 · 6,725 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Cross Layer Frame Work for Enhanced Quality of Service Provisioning in Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access NetworksS.J.K. Jagadeesh Kumar, T. PurusothamanProblem statement: The demand for multimedia applications in WiMAX networks is growing at a rapid pace. A method for guaranteeing Quality of Service (QoS) for different classes of traffic is therefore gaining importance. Hence designing and analyzing multimedia traffic and QoS parameters has become central to this problem. In this study, we propose a cross layer frame work in which … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 3 · 21 Jan 2012 · 7,055 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractReliable and Efficient Broadcasting in Asymmetric Mobile Ad Hoc Networks Using Minimized Forward Node List AlgorithmMarimuthu Murugesan, Ammasai KrishnanProblem statement: Network wide broadcasting is a fundamental operation in ad hoc networks. In broadcasting, a source node sends a message to all the other nodes in the network. Unlike in a wired network, a packet transmitted by a node in ad hoc wireless network can reach all neighbors. Therefore, the total number of transmissions (Forwarding nodes) used as the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 1 · 27 Dec 2010 · 7,580 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordA Q-Routing Protocol Using Self-Aware Approach for Mobile Ad hoc NetworksAmal Alharbi, Abdullah Al-Dhalaan, Miznah Al-RodhaanMobile Ad hoc Networks (MANET) are self-organized networks that are characterized by dynamic topologies in time and space. This creates an instable environment, where classical routing approaches cannot achieve high performance. Thus, adaptive routing is necessary to handle the challenges in MANETs. Furthermore, it is necessary for nodes to be self-aware i.e., able to discover neighbors, links and paths when … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 12, Issue 12 · 7 Dec 2015 · 6,468 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordAn Optimal Path Management Strategy in Mobile Ad Hoc Network Using Fuzzy and Rough Set TheoryP. Seethalakshmi, M. Joseph Auxilius Jude, G. RajendranProblem statement: Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) is a collection of wireless mobile nodes that dynamically forms a network. Most of the existing ad-hoc routing algorithms select the shortest path using various resources. However the selected path may not consider all the network parameters and this would result in link instability in the network. The problems with existing methods are … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 12 · 15 Oct 2011 · 7,671 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordStudents' Awareness and Requirements of Mobile Learning Services in the Higher Education EnvironmentNaji Shukri Alzaza, Abdul Razak YaakubProblem statement: M-learning is considered as the next generation of e-learning using mobile technologies. Students’ awareness of such technology is one of the most focuses for success adoption. This study aims to investigate students’ awareness and requirements of mobile learning services among Malaysian students in the higher education environment. Approach: The study found that the higher education environment now has … …American Journal of Economics and Business Administration, Vol. 3, Issue 1 · 26 Jan 2011 · 18,672 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessAll words, across the recordOn Analysis and Design of the Enhanced Firewall for Intranet SecurityU. K. Singh, A. K. Ramani, N. S. ChaudhariIntranet often employ an Internet firewall to mitigate risks of system penetration, data theft, data destruction and other security breaches. Conventional Internet firewalls impose an overly simple inside vs. outside model of security that is incompatible with many business practices that require extending limited trust to external entities. Additionally, firewall security perimeters are somewhat weak: they provide no protection from … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 2 · 30 Jun 2005 · 6,710 accessesView PDF Cite
