Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsEvaluating the Strengths and Weaknesses of Mining Audit Data for Automated Models for Intrusion Detection in Tcpdump and Basic Security Module DataG. Mohammed Nazer, A. Arul Lawrence SelvakumarProblem statement: Intrusion Detection System (IDS) have become an important component of infrastructure protection mechanism to secure the current and emerging networks, its services and applications by detecting, alerting and taking necessary actions against the malicious activities. The network size, technology diversities and security policies make networks more challenging and hence there is a requirement for IDS which should be … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 10 · 25 Aug 2012 · 7,126 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsA Hidden Genetic Layer Based Neural Network for Mobility PredictionL. Velmurugan, P. ThangarajProblem statement: With numerous wireless devices increasingly connecting to the internet, WLAN infrastructure planning becomes very important to maintain desired quality of services. For maintaining desired quality of service it is desirable to know the movement pattern of users. Mobility prediction involves finding the mobile device's next access point as it moves through the wireless network. Hidden Markov models and … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 9, Issue 4 · 11 Feb 2012 · 7,224 accessesView PDFCite

This study surveys the state-of-the-art on Wireless Body Area Networks, discussing the major components of research in this area including physiological sensing and preprocessing, WBASNs … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 1 · 1 Nov 2011 · 9,155 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsEnergy Efficient Aggregation for Continuous Monitoring Applications of Wireless Sensor NetworkR. Rajkamal, P. Vanaja RanjanProblem statement: Continuous Monitoring of time critical phenomenon is one of the major streams of possible application in this arena. Sensing and Monitoring of such phenomenon involves in dealing with large amount of data correlated in spatial and temporal dimensions. Most applications of WSN, the nodes are hard to reach and it is impossible to replace their batteries so the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 1 · 28 Oct 2011 · 7,401 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsImproved Application of Paraconsistent Artificial Neural Networks in Diagnosis of Alzheimer's DiseaseHelder F.S. Lopes, Jair M. Abe, Paulo A.M. Kanda et al.Problem statement: The visual analysis of Electroencephalogram (EEG) activity has shown useful as a complementary tool in Alzheimer Disease (AD diagnosis) when the diagnosis remains uncertain, in addition to be used in some clinical protocols. However, this analysis is subject to the inherent equipment imprecision, biological artifact, electrical records, and subjective physician interpretation of the visual analysis variation. The Artificial … …Neuroscience International, Vol. 2, Issue 1 · 6 Oct 2011 · 12,061 accessesView PDFCite

The objective of this research were to study: (1) the local fishery lifestyle of community in local fishery on upper area in Gulf of Thailand, (2) the appropriate participation process in natural resource management on upper part in Gulf of Thailand of people and organization and (3) the … …Journal of Social Sciences, Vol. 7, Issue 4 · 16 Sep 2011 · 7,866 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsUsing Hyper Clustering Algorithms in Mobile Network PlanningLamiaa Fattouh Ibrahim, Hesham A. SalmanProblem statement: As a large amount of data stored in spatial databases, people may like to find groups of data which share similar features. Thus cluster analysis becomes an important area of research in data mining. Applications of clustering analysis have been utilized in many fields, such as when we search to construct a cluster served by base station in … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 8, Issue 10 · 30 Aug 2011 · 7,504 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsStatistical Analysis and Learning Method on Users' FeedbacksDoris Hooi-Ten Wong, Sureswaran RamadassProblem statement: The purpose of this study was constructing an effective algorithm in order to learn the users’ feedbacks from their displayed visualization. This is due to existing visualization tools typically involve presenting network data regardless of considering level of network data knowledge among different levels of computer users. The machine learning algorithm has been applied in order to find … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 9 · 26 Jul 2011 · 6,525 accessesView PDFCite
