Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleSleeping Cluster based Medium Access Control Layer Routing Protocol for Wireless Sensor NetworksT. Nagamalar, T. R. RangaswamyWireless sensor networks play a vital role in remote area applications, where human intervention is not possible. In a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) each and every node is strictly an energy as well as bandwidth constrained one. Problem Statement: In a standard WSN, most of the routing techniques, move data from multiple sources to a single fixed base station. Because … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 8 · 16 Jul 2012 · 6,686 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleAn Optimized Ad Hoc on Demand Distance Vector Routing Protocol for Wireless NetworksV. Ponniyin Selvan, S. Senthil KumarProblem statement: Wireless Mesh Networks (WMN) is communication network made up of mesh routers and mesh clients, with mesh routers forming the backbone of the network. The WMN can be accessed by other networks through gateways and bridging functions in the mesh routers. The mesh clients can either be static or mobile with an option of forming a client mesh … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 7 · 21 Jun 2012 · 7,166 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleRealization of Fault Tolerant Routing Protocol for ZigbeeSharmila Sankar, SankaranarayananProblem statement: Increased use of handheld devices and sensor devices pose problems in existing routing protocols. The performance of the existing routing protocols deteriorates very much on these dense scenarios. Control overheads are very important parameter in deciding the performance of routing protocols, which are introduced during route discovery and maintenance process. Denser the network, higher is the control overhead … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 5 · 2 Mar 2012 · 6,827 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleA Fault Tolerant Congestion Aware Routing Protocol for Mobile Adhoc NetworksG. Rajkumar, K. DuraiswamyProblem statement: The performance of ad hoc routing protocols will significantly degrade when there are faulty nodes in the network. Packet losses and bandwidth degradation are caused due to congestion and thus, time and energy is wasted during its recovery. The fault tolerant congestion aware routing protocol addresses these problems by exploring the network redundancy through multipath routing. Approach: In … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 5 · 23 Feb 2012 · 6,446 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleRange Detection Multicast Routing Protocol for Mobile Ad-Hoc NetworksR. Velumani, K. DuraiswamyProblem statement: Many efforts have been implemented towards the Group membership management on multicast routing in MANETs, but the difficulties associated with Group membership management are still existed. Approach: Maintaining endurance of Group Leader (GL) in multicasting routing has been a great challenge to all the protocol having been invented so far. Results: This study provides the RDMP algorithm for … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 4 · 10 Feb 2012 · 6,486 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleAn Interaction between Congestion-Control Based Transport Protocols and Manet Routing ProtocolsKhuzairi Mohd Zaini, Adib M. Monzer Habbal, Fazli Azzali et al.Problem statement: Although many efforts have been done on studying the behaviour of TCP in MANET, but the behaviour of TFRC remain unclear in MANET. The purpose of this research is two folds. First, we studied the behaviour of TFRC and TCP over AODV and DSR as the underlying routing protocols in terms of throughput, delay and jitter. The second … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 4 · 28 Jan 2012 · 7,155 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleImpact of Sybil and Wormhole Attacks in Location Based Geographic Multicast Routing Protocol for Wireless Sensor NetworksShyamala Ramachandran, Valli ShanmuganProblem statement: Wireless sensor networks have been used in many applications, such as home automation, military surveillances and entity tracking systems. The sensor nodes have low computational capabilities and are highly resource constrained. Routing protocols of wireless sensor networks are prone to various routing attacks, such as black hole, rushing, wormhole, Sybil and denial of service attacks. Approach: The objective … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 7 · 28 Jun 2011 · 6,982 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titlePerformance Study of Ad-Hoc Reactive Routing ProtocolsPallavi Khatri, Monika Rajput, Alankar Shastri, Keshav SolankiProblem statement: In this study, an attempt had been made to compare the performance of the reactive ad-hoc routing protocols using OPNET modeler with respect to increasing number of nodes in the network. Approach: In present study, we compared various reactive routing protocols such as Ad hoc On-demand Distance Vector (AODV), Dynamic Source Routing (DSR) and Temporally Ordered Routing Algorithm … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 6, Issue 10 · 10 Aug 2010 · 7,753 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessPhrase in the titleEvaluation of Ad Hoc on Demand Distance Vector Routing Protocol in HetMAN ArchitectureZahian Ismail, Rosilah HassanProblem statement: Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET), a type of network with special characteristics, needs a special mechanism to bear with its ad hoc behavior. Approach: The important issue in MANET is routing protocol. Routing protocol is a standard used to determine the route path taken during the transmission of data.
