Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractA Novel Service Mobility Architecture for SIP EnvironmentsThierno Bah, Samuel Pierre, Roch GlithoLately, the proliferation of small portable devices has driven the introduction of a new mobility concept called service mobility. In order to support service mobility, we introduce a new architecture implementing mechanisms to access end user’s personalized services regardless of his physical location. The proposed architecture leverages on mobile agent technology to transport and move services to the end user’s … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2007 · 6,822 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractPower Consumption and Performance’s Library on DSPs: Case Study MPEG2Jalel Ktari, Mohamed Abid, Nathalie Julien, Johann LaurentThe growing demand for portable electronic devices has led to an increased emphasis on power consumption within the semiconductor industry. As a result, designers are now encouraged to consider the impact of their decisions not only on speed and area, but also on power throughout the design space exploration. This article presents a high-level design space exploration methodology. It allows … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 3, Issue 3 · 31 Mar 2007 · 6,828 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractMobile Agents in Wireless LAN and Cellular Data NetworksR. B. Patel, V. K. Katiyar, Vishal GargAdvancing technology in wireless communication offers users anytime, anywhere access to information and network resources without restricting them to the fixed network infrastructure. Mobile computing represents a shift in the distributed systems paradigm. The potential of decoupled and disconnected operation, location-dependent computation and communication and powerful portable computing devices gives rise to opportunities for new patterns of distributed computation that … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 2, Issue 5 · 31 May 2006 · 7,086 accessesView PDF Cite

Research ArticleOpen accessIn the abstractDynamic Reconfiguration of IP Domain Middleware Stacks to Support Multicast Multimedia Distribution in a Heterogeneous EnvironmentKevin Curran, Gerard ParrSeamless connectivity to multiple wireless networks independently of a fixed point is becoming increasingly important for mobile devices however wireless networks differ in bandwidth, size and access costs each requiring protocol functions to enable devices to communicate efficiently. In addition, due to the divergence of users and applications, traditional stacks are frequently enriched with additional functionality such as transport protocol … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 1, Issue 1 · 31 Mar 2005 · 6,786 accessesView PDF Cite
