Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsA Novel Multicast Routing Protocol for Mobile Ad Hoc NetworksZeyad M. Alfawaer, GuiWei Hua, Noraziah AhmedIn mobile ad hoc networks, how to achieve the multicast communication is a challenging task due to the fact that the topology may change frequently and communication links may be broken because of users' mobility. We introduced MANHSI (Multicast for Ad hoe Network with hybrid Swarm Intelligence) protocol, which relies on a swarm intelligence based optimization technique to learn and … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 4, Issue 5 · 31 May 2007 · 7,300 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsEnhancing Network Security through Accurate Asset Discovery Using Lightweight Agent-Based ApproachIshu Sharma, Ahthasham Sajid et al.Any organization's network administrators and security professionals must have an accurate and real state of assets connected to the network to devise different policies for securing critical resources by identifying vulnerabilities. Asset discovery is a challenging and critical task in vulnerability assessment. The vulnerability of the organization’s network can be correctly analysed only with the accurate prediction of connected devices. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 22, Issue 4 · 28 Mar 2026 · 1,951 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsA Hybrid Clustering Process using a Genetic Fuzzy System for the Knowledge Base of a Fuzzy Rule-Based SystemHamedoun Lamiae, Attariuas Hicham, Ben Maati Mohamed LarbiThe present paper proposes a new Hybrid clustering Process based on Fuzzy Genetic System. The proposed Approach consists of two steps: (1) Using a method called Fuzzy clustering, all data elements will be clustered into N groups; (2) utilizing a Fuzzy Genetic System, for every level the fuzzy rule of adhesion will be generated. If we compare our research to … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 12, Issue 12 · 6 Feb 2017 · 6,647 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsLONG-REACH OPTICAL ACCESS NETWORKS (LR-OANS): A PROMISING CANDIDATE FOR FUTURE OPTICAL ACCESSI.M.M. Mohamed, M.S. Ab-RahmanThe ever-increasing demand for broader bandwidth per user, which results from the continuous development of new bandwidth-hungry services and applications, creates the motivation to upgrade the currently deployed Time-Division Multiplexing Passive Optical Networks (TDM-PONs) to Next-Generation Optical Access Networks (NG-OANs). Beside the need for more bandwidth per user, a further extension in the range and an increase in the split … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 11, Issue 9 · 15 Aug 2014 · 6,708 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsParticle Swarm and Neural Network Approach for Fault Clearing of Multilevel InvertersR. M.S. Parvathi, M. SivakumarThis study presents a machine learning technique for fault diagnostics in induction motor drives. A normal model and an extensive range of faulted models for the inverter-motor combination were developed and implemented using a generic commercial simulation tool to generate voltages and current signals at a broad range of operating points selected by a Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) based machine … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 10, Issue 6 · 8 Jun 2013 · 6,495 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsSpeed Estimation of Adaptive Fuzzy-Controlled Piezo-Electric Motor using MLP-Neural NetworkShebel ALSABBAH, Tariq MUGHRABIThe speed of ultrasonic motor of piezo-electric type is usually measured using mechanical sensors such as pulse encoders. However, these sensors are costly and bulky. In this paper, a numerical speed estimation approach of a piezo-electric motor (PEM) is implemented using multilayer perception neural network (MLP-NN). The proposed model evaluates rotational speed and load torque based on the amplitude and … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 5, Issue 11 · 30 Nov 2008 · 6,790 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessIn the keywordsAnalytical Analysis of In-Band Crosstalk, Out-of-Band Crosstalk and GVD-Based Power Penalties in DWDM and TDM/DWDM-PONSIbrahim Mohamed, Mohammad Syuhaimi Ab-RahmanIn addition to the ever-increasing demand for broader bandwidth per user, which results from the continuous development of new bandwidth-hungry services and applications, the consequent upgrade from the currently deployed Time-Division Multiplexing Passive Optical Networks (TDM-PONs) to Next-Generation Optical Access Networks (NG-OANs) has become inevitable. Different architectures for creating a NG-OAN have been proposed in the literature.
