Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEfficient Sensor Stream Data Processing System to use Cache Technique for Ubiquitous Sensor Network Application ServiceJun-Yong Park, Ryum-Duck OhProblem statement: For the purpose of supporting application services in the Ubiquitous Sensor Network (USN) environment, efficient processing of stream data that occur in the sensor nodes and relevant utilization technologies are being studied. Approach: The conversion of various sensor stream data that occur in the sensor nodes into sensor data suitable for use in the upper-level application system is … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 3 · 9 Jan 2012 · 6,874 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAn Efficient Hand-off Mechanism for Vehicular NetworksM. Dinakaran, P. BalasubramanieProblem statement: In recent times, wireless networks have become ubiquitous and the hotspot research arena. When a mobile node switches from one access network to another network, the node is said to perform a handoff. This transition is a complex and time-consuming task since after transit the mobile node has to obtain a new Care of Address (CoA) from the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 1 · 3 Nov 2011 · 7,294 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleOptimal Network Design for Efficient Energy Utilization in Wireless Sensor NetworksChutima Prommak, Sujitra ModhirunProblem statement: This research presents a study of the optimal network design for efficient energy utilization in continuous data-gathering Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). We first examine the problem of minimizing the network cost through the minimum number of relay-station installation. Then we further investigate the problem of minimizing the energy consumption of the sensor nodes. Approach: We model the network … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 8, Issue 1 · 3 Nov 2011 · 7,352 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAn Efficient and Effective Immune Based ClassifierShahram Golzari, Shyamala Doraisamy, Md Nasir Sulaiman, Nur Izura UdzirProblem statement: Artificial Immune Recognition System (AIRS) is most popular and effective immune inspired classifier. Resource competition is one stage of AIRS. Resource competition is done based on the number of allocated resources. AIRS uses a linear method to allocate resources. The linear resource allocation increases the training time of classifier. Approach: In this study, a new nonlinear resource allocation … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 2 · 25 Feb 2011 · 7,772 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleReliable and Efficient Broadcasting in Asymmetric Mobile Ad Hoc Networks Using Minimized Forward Node List AlgorithmMarimuthu Murugesan, Ammasai KrishnanProblem statement: Network wide broadcasting is a fundamental operation in ad hoc networks. In broadcasting, a source node sends a message to all the other nodes in the network. Unlike in a wired network, a packet transmitted by a node in ad hoc wireless network can reach all neighbors. Therefore, the total number of transmissions (Forwarding nodes) used as the … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 7, Issue 1 · 27 Dec 2010 · 7,580 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleAn Efficient Low Complexity Lossless Coding Algorithm for Medical ImagesS. E. Ghrare, M.A. Mohd. Ali, K. Jumari, M. IsmailProblem statement: Nowadays a large number of various medical images are generated from hospitals and medical centers with sophisticated image acquisition devices, the movement toward digital images in radiology presents the problem of how to conveniently and economically store, retrieve and transmit the volume of digital images. Thus digital image data compression is necessary in order to solve this problem. … …American Journal of Applied Sciences, Vol. 6, Issue 8 · 31 Aug 2009 · 7,098 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEfficient Implementation of Stochastic Computing Based Deep Neural Network on Low Cost Hardware with Saturation ArithmeticSunny Bodiwala, Nirali NanavatiThis study presents an efficient and rapid implementation of Stochastic Computing (SC) based Deep Neural Network (DNN) on a low-cost hardware platform. The proposed technique uses bipolar signal encoding in stochastic computing which relatively gives low hardware footprint compared to binary computing. Thereinafter, stochastic max function is presented and subsequently used to approximate the hyperbolic tangent activation function in SC. … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 16, Issue 11 · 17 Nov 2020 · 6,879 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEfficient Music Auto-Tagging with Convolutional Neural NetworksShaleen Bengani, S. Vadivel, J. Angel Arul JothiTechnology is revolutionizing the way in which music is distributed and consumed. As a result, millions of songs are instantly available to millions of people, on the Internet. This has created the need for novel music search and discovery services. Music is often searched using descriptive keywords, or tags, based on the content of the song. Hence, one very important … …Journal of Computer Science, Vol. 15, Issue 8 · 27 Aug 2019 · 7,847 accessesView PDFCite
Research ArticleOpen accessEvery word in the titleEfficient Pose Tracking based on Line Segment MatchingJunqiu Wang, Jingjing Cui, Yanjie Gao et al.Pose tracking is a crucial issue for many applications such as robotic tasks and facility operations. Vision-based approaches with non-contact properties are appropriate choices for these tasks. However, vision-based approaches are not sufficiently robust and fast. In this work, we propose a vision-based pose tracking to deal with these problems. We estimate poses using Lie group and Lie algebra representation … …American Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Vol. 12, Issue 1 · 27 Dec 2018 · 7,851 accessesView PDFCite
